Facts of the Persecution

1) Ms. Xie Yanxing, a senior engineer in Liaohe City, as well as her two daughters, started practicing Falun Gong prior to the persecution, and have improved their physical and spiritual health. Since Jiang Zemin started to openly persecute Falun Gong in 1999, the terror of the persecution did not discourage the three of them from stepping out and telling other people the truth of Falun Gong. Unfortunately, they have repeatedly been subjected to illegal detention and torture. Since the persecution started, Ms, Xie Yanxing's family has suffered financial losses of more than 107,850 yuan.

2) My name is Xiong Zhengming. I am a 38-year-old male Falun Gong practitioner in Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province. Before I became a Falun Gong practitioner, I often drank and smoked. I had gastric disease and often caught flu. I was fortunate to learn Falun Dafa in November 1996. Since then, I gave up habits of smoking and drinking, and became very healthy. However, Jiang Zemin's regime started to openly persecute Falun Dafa in July 1999 and slander Falun Gong to justify the persecution. I was impervious of Jiang Zemin's smear campaign and persisted in practicing Falun Gong. As a result, the police ransacked my home, abducted me from home. They illegally detained me, tried to make me give up practicing Falun Gong with threats, and kidnapped me to the forced brainwashing center. When I was eventually released, I was forced to leave my home, going into hiding to avoid additional persecution. The police had even repeatedly threatened and harassed my family members who have not started to practice Falun Gong. They had also forced my family members to write the "Three Statements" on my behalf.

3) In May 2004, a batch of print materials that expose the local government officials' crimes against Falun Gong practitioners were found inside and near Factory 5727 in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. A few days later, the local police abducted six Falun Gong practitioners working at the factory or living in the nearby area, and ransacked their homes. Mr. Cai Maobao, an outstanding teacher in Jiujiang City, was one of six abducted Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Cai is still being held in Jiujiang City Detention Center at the time of writing. In fact, his detention has exceeded the legal detention limit.

4) Mr. Zhou Xiangyang is a Falun Gong practitioner in Tianjin that works at Tianjin City Railway as a Railway Construction Praiser. Mr. Zhou has been sentenced to nine years in prison. He has been transferred to Gangbei Jail in Dagang Precinct on August 9, 2004.

5) Mr. Dong Junming is a Falun Gong practitioner in Qinhuangdao, Heibei Province in his 30's. Mr. Dong has repeatedly suffered from persecution for refusing to give up his belief in Falun Gong. Mrs. Dong was once kidnapped to Changli Forced Brainwashing Center where she was subjected to tortures and forced brainwashing. In 2003, the police abducted Mr. Dong Junming again, and illegally detained him in Tangshan Forced Labor Camp. The police did not release Mr. Dong until the end of 2003 when he became almost completely blind. He was finally released on bail for medical treatment. After Mr. Dong returned home, the local police repeatedly went to his home and harassed, intimidated and threatened him. Eventually, Mr. Dong had no choice but to leave home, going into hiding to avoid additional persecution. On August 1, 2004, the police secretly kidnapped Dong in Shanhaiguan. Dong is now illegally detained in Changli Forced Brainwashing Center. He is now on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

6) The following are some facts of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in Xuanhua Precinct, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province:

1. On July 20, 2004, Mr. Wang Shimin and Mr. Zhang Zhanyuan were illegally sent to Baoding Jail in Baoding, Hebei Province. The Xuanhua Precinct's People's Court held an illegal show trial of four Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Wang Chunyin, Mr. Guo Zhengqing, Ms. Lu Aidong and Ms. Guo Xiaohua in 2001, and then threw them into jail. Now the Xuanhua Precinct's People's Court repeated its crime and illegally sentenced Mr. Wang Shimin and Mr. Zhang Zhanyuan to jail.
2. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Weisheng was kidnapped on November 28, 2003, and has now been detained for eight more months than the sentenced prison term.
3. Inside the "Xiyanghong Apartment for the Elderly People" in Xuanhua District, many propaganda comic strips that slander Falun Gong are hanging on the walls in the corridor. The propaganda has had a negative impact on the staffs and elderly people there, and instigates their hatred towards Falun Gong.

7) Three Falun Gong practitioners in Liuhe County, Jilin Province, including Mr. Sun Renqi, his wife Ms. Yang Jing, and Mr. Zhao Guihua, as well as a undisclosed Falun Gong practitioner, drove to the countryside to distribute Falun Gong truth-clarification flyers. However, the local people who did not know the truth about Falun Gong reported them to the police, who then arrested the four practitioners. Mr. Sun Renqi is a new practitioner and the Deputy Director of National Taxation Bureau. Mrs. Sun was a former reporter of Liuhe County TV station, and currently works for Broadcast Bureau. Mr. Zhao Guihua works for Liuhe County Taxation Office. Three of the four practitioners are being held in Liuhe County Detention Center, and the other one has escaped from the detention center. On the evening of August 4, the police ransacked the homes of Sun and Zhao.

8) I am Yu Zhenlan, a 60-year-old housewife residing in the residence quarter of the Construction Security Section of Shuicheng Mining Bureau in Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province. I had many diseases before I practiced Falun Gong, but had become increasingly healthy since I started to practice Falun Gong. Because I distributed Falun Gong truth-clarification materials, I was illegally detained and subjected to persecution. I had no choice but to leave home, taking into hiding to avoid additional persecution. On October 28, 2002, I was again arrested and detained for 15 days in a detention center. After I was released, the local police subjected me to forced brainwashing again, and tried to make me write Guarantee Statement to renounce Falun Gong. I implore the International Court to trial Jiang Zemin and his accomplices of the persecution!

9) Mr. Li Guozhen is a 29-year-old Falun Gong practitioner in Guo's Shangtuan Village, Zhangling Town, Changyi City, Shandong Province. Because Li is determined in practicing Falun Gong, repeatedly went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and kept telling other people the truth about Falun Gong, he was repeatedly arrested, and suffered from brutal tortures and slavery. The police tried to put him in a forced labor camp for two years, but the forced labor camp refused to take him because he did not pass the health exam.

10) Mr. Cao Jun is a 28-year-old cadre at the Promotion Section of Wangjiazhai Coal Mine, Water City Mining Bureau in Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province. He was filed from work for practicing Falun Gong. On November 14, 2001, Cao went to Beijing to tell people the truth of Falun Gong. The police illegally abducted Cao, and kept beating him until he was completely covered with cuts and bruises. On October 28, 2002, Cao Jun was again arrested, and sentenced to 8 years in prison. Later he was transferred to Dujun City Cement Factory (Forced Labor Camp) in Dujun City, Guizhou Province where he was subjected to additional persecution.

11) In mid-April of 2000, Ms. Kuang Wenying, a Falun Gong practitioner of Tongnan County, Chongqing City, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, but was illegally detained by the police. In June 2000, Ms. Kuang was illegally sentenced to one year in Maojiashan Women's Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing. In the beginning, she was forced to sit on a small stool for 14 to 15 hours a day. After a few months of the repeated torture, her buttocks were too painful to be touched. Next, she was forced to stand or squat outdoors for an extended amount of time each day for more than two months. The police and drug addicts often beat and cursed her. They sometimes even strip her naked to humiliate her. After her term was due, Maojiashan Women's Forced Labor Camp arbitrarily extended her term for another half a year. On October 19, 2001, she was sent to the detention center for an indefinite term of detention. She went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention and the persecution, but the police tortured her with punitive forced-feeding through tubes. She was released when she became critically ill. Later she was forced to leave home to avoid additional persecution.

12) In May 2002, Qiqihar Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Yongfang was abducted from her home by Liu Yingshan and others from Anda Political Protection Section, and was sentenced to 3 years of forced hard labor. The conditions in Qiqihar Forced Labor Camp caused her tuberculosis to recur. Wang became very emaciated. Despite her infectious disease and alarming health, the police continued to force her to wrap chopsticks every day. During the Chinese New Year, Qiqihar Forced Labor Camp wanted to release her in the fear of taking responsibility for her death; however, the Anda Public Security Bureau and Political Protection Section refused to accept the transfer.

13) On May 13, 2004, Hebei Province "610 Office" conducted a large-scale persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. It was a joint raid carried out by Heibei Provincial "610 Office", Xinhua Precinct's "610 Office", the city's National Security Bureau and Zhengding County Political and Judiciary Committee. More than 20 people from these offices broke into a farm in Zhengding County run by Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Jia Zhicun, Mr. Zhou Ximeng, Ms. Li Liya and Mr. Zhang Shengli, and ransacked the entire premise. They confiscated the personal properties that worthed nearly 10,000 yuan, and abducted Mr. Jia Zhicun, Mr. Zhou Ximeng, Ms. Li Liya and Changzhou practitioner Mr. Li Jincang to Xinhua District Forced Brainwashing Center. After having sent forth righteous thoughts for 10 hours in detention, all of them were released that night except Li Jincang. His whereabouts is unknown.

Heinous Crimes Committed by Depraved Men Assisting in the Persecution

1) Chuanhui Precinct's People's Court in Zhoukou City, Henan Province Frames Falun Gong practitioners

On July 8 and 9, 2004, Chuanhui Precinct's People's Court secretly tried Falun Gong practitioners at Chuanhui Precinct's Courthouse and Huaiyang Detention Center. 16 Falun Gong practitioners were kidnapped directly to the courtroom. On the day, there was a severe thunderstorm with lightning and pouring rain. On July 9, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Fang's family discovered that Chuanhui Precinct's People's Court was going to trial Yang Fang at Huaiyang Detention Center. On that night, there was another thunderstorm.

2) The Police from Shijiazhuang Police Station and Shijiazhuang City Detention Center in Hebei Province Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners

On April 13, 2004, Hedong Police Station kidnapped six Falun Gong practitioners, Mr. Huang Wei and Ms. Qiu Liying, to Shijiazhuang City No. 1 Detention Center, and made them have an X-ray chest scan. The Dafa practitioners illegally detained in Shijiazhuang City No. 1 Detention Center went on a group hunger strike to protest the persecution. Shijiazhuang City No. 1 Detention Center tried to stop their hunger strike using punitive force-feeding torture. They added a dangerously massive amount of table salt into the fluid, which caused the practitioners'nose mucous membrane and gastric membrane to completely burst, which in turn caused their mouths and noses to bleed excessively. The salt burn inflicted the practitioners with the most insufferable pain, and caused their heartbeat to accelerate.
