Facts of the Persecution

1) Ruan Yingjie is a Falun Dafa practitioner in her forties. She is retired from Shuangqiao Auto Factory of Chongqing City. On May 13, 2000, the authorities arrested Ms. Ruan for appealing for Falun Gong. Later they sentenced her for one year at a forced labor camp and released her in October of 2001. On February 29, 2004, the authorities once again abducted her and sentenced her to two and half years at a forced labor camp. She is presently imprisoned in the Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp, Jiangbei District, Chongqing City and is suffering brutal persecution.

2) In late December of 1999, Falun Dafa practitioners Liu Yufeng, Lin Junlan, Du Kesong, and Zhou Chengqing from Wendeng City, Shandong Province went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The authorities from the Wendeng Office in Beijing arrested, tortured, and extorted money from them. In particular, Li Yinglin from this office body-searched practitioners and confiscated all of the practitioners' money. He took away 4,000 Yuan (1) from Liu Yufeng and her husband Lin Junlan. Li also beat up the practitioners. Despite the cold weather in winter, they forced Liu to pour cold water on the top of her own head. Furthermore, they brutally beat her until her eyeballs protruded from the socket.

3) The police officers in the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp have been brutally torturing and humiliating Falun Dafa practitioners. They tortured practitioner Liu Quanwang by forcing him to stand for an extensive period of time, depriving him of sleep continuously for days, and preventing him from going to the restroom. In April of 2003, they took practitioner Li Wei to a special class for intensive persecution. Li held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. In return, the police officers frequently beat and tortured him. In spite of his extremely weak health after twenty days of his hunger strike, the policemen forced him to jog with them every day. In addition, they extended Li's imprisonment in the labor camp for ten more months. In June of 2003, he held another hunger strike to protest. The authorities then sent him to another notorious brigade for further persecution. Practitioner Wang Sili, in his seventies, was also sent twice to that brigade for persecution. In that same brigade, policemen once shocked a practitioner surnamed Xue with a dozen electric batons.

4) My name is Zhou Guangchun. I was born in 1955 and I'm a worker at Xinhua Power Plant of Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. Because of my practice of Falun Gong, the authorities have abducted and imprisoned me several times. On April 12, 2002, the local police officers came to my home to abduct me. I managed to escape and was forced to leave home to avoid arrest. Later, police officers in Yutian, Hebei Province abducted and beat me. They shocked me with electric batons so terribly that my whole body smelled like burnt flesh. On June 10, they escorted me to the Daqing Labor Camp. During the physical exam, I was diagnosed with necrosis in both thigh bones (2). In fact, I was almost unable to walk. Despite my poor health condition from the extensive torture, they imprisoned me in the labor camp anyway. In 2004, I was released from the labor camp but was fired from my job.
