Facts of the Persecution

On July 23, 2004, the Beihu District Court of Chenzhou City, Hunan Province made plans to secretly put Falun Dafa practitioner Li Hui (gender unknown) on trial. Li's family and friends heard about this and went to the court. Personnel from the "6-10 Office" and the police threatened them. The Chenzhou City "6-10 Office" head, Peng Guanhua (male), stated, "There are no legal procedures required for Falun Gong trials." Three days later, on July 26, 2004, the Party City Committee and Government held an internal meeting, and decided that if Falun Dafa practitioners went to the trial to support Li Hui and to clarify the truth, they would harass them.

On July 14, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Hua from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province walked out of the Xiaodao Women's Labor Camp after being on a hunger strike for 80 days. She was arrested at her restaurant on April 23 by policemen Xu Qingsong (male) and Lu Hai (male) from the Tianhe District "610 Office." During her hunger strike to protest the persecution, Ms. Chen constantly recited Master's poems for inspiration. She also validated Dafa with her righteous thoughts and righteous actions during the 80-day hunger strike.

Several Falun Dafa practitioners in Changchun City, Jilin Province were recently released from the Xinglongshan Brainwashing Class, and revealed the brutality there. Three male practitioners have been tortured until they were unable to walk. Mr. Zhang Zhongyu has suffered atrophy of his muscles, Mr. Li Wei and another Dafa practitioner are unable to walk, but the police still refuse to release them. A collaborator, He Yuhua (female), was brainwashed in the Heizuizi Labor Camp. She often helped guards torture Falun Dafa practitioners there.

Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Li Feng from Quti Village, Anguo City, Baoding District, Hebei Province is being tortured inside the Northern Suburban No. 4 Prison in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. He has been forced to labor long shifts in the high-temperature light bulb section, where the criminal inmates mistreat him. The persecution is so intense that he occasionally suffers from a confused mental state from the abuse.

Police in the No. 2 Men's Ward of the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp forced resolute Falun Dafa practitioners Zhang Haiduo, Zhao Aimin, Wang Shengbiao, Zhang Sanxin, and Zhang Wenqiang to suffer by subjecting them to a "Sitting Board" (1) facing the wall for long periods of time, while being strictly monitored by prisoners. In the beginning of June, policemen Bian Shuqiang, Dong Guoxin, Zhang Li, and others beat Falun Dafa practitioners, including Zhang Jianwen, Lu Feng, Wang Bingjun, and Ma Hui. These practitioners had declared their "Three Statements" null and void. Because of this, the police used rubber hoses to beat them, causing severe pain, bruising, and swelling. They then instructed the criminal inmates to further torture them.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Sun Yuzhen is a teacher in the Laixi No. 3 Middle School in Xiagezhuang Town, Laixi City, Shandong Province. On March 7, 2003, she was arrested by police while shopping at the market, and was later sent to the Zibo Labor Camp. In order to force her to write a Guarantee Statement, the police handcuffed her to the bed, force-fed her six times per day because she was on a hunger strike, and did not allow her to use the toilet, wash or go to sleep. The police forced her to stand for long periods of time, stripped her naked during the winter to induce hypothermia, and handcuffed her in an awkward position such that she could neither stand up or sit down. She started a second hunger strike after March 2004. The police locked her in a "strict control cell." There they force-fed her while she was handcuffed to the cell bars, and taped her mouth shut numerous times to prevent her from shouting, "Falun Dafa is good!" The police finally had to release Ms. Sun when her physical condition seriously deteriorated.

Note:

(1) "Sitting Board" -- For 18 hours per day, practitioners were forced to sit on these hard benches, with their hands on top of their laps and backs straight. This continued for over fifty days. The authorities even limited practitioners' toliet use. Because of the long time spent sitting on the hard benches, practitioners' buttocks developed large sores that were very painful. Practitioners could not even urinate normally because of the pain. Because the labor camp was very humid, the police would not allow practitioners any ventilation or the opportunity to have some sunlight. Practitioners were locked up for so long, countless red scabies grew on their bodies; they were incomparably itchy and painful.
