Facts of the Persecution

1) My name is Qu Guizhen, and I am a Dafa practitioner from Bin County, Harbin City (Heilongjiang Province). Over the past 5 years of persecution, because I've remained firm in my belief in FalunGong's principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" and clarified the truth of the persecution people, Jiang's political group has illegally detained me on five separate occasions, during which I've been subjected to numerous tortures. In April 2002, I was arrested for the 5^th time. I escaped from the police station with my righteous thoughts and was left destitute, living a hard life in different places for over a year.

2) Practitioner Wang Hongyan and practitioner Wu Jinlian are a couple living in Houzhuan Village, Cuimiao Town (in Fucheng County, Hebei Province). During the past few years, the Cuimiao Town Judiciary Secretary, Qu Dongwu, and his followers have persecuted the couple very badly: including illegally detaining and torturing them, and extorting nearly 10,000 yuan from them(1).

3) Yi Juncai is a 52 year old female Dafa practitioner who lives in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. On April 4, 2004, some authorities from the State Security Bureau of Shijiazhuang City abducted her and closed her real estate company. Employees of the company were left without jobs.

4) Practitioner, Li Wenjun, is a resident at Gaoxin District, Jilin City (Jilin Province). On April 16, 2004, some persecutors abducted Li. They sentenced Li to 3 years of forced labor and sent him to Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai City. Because of the persecution, Li became very weak. His family members and lawyer asked for a medical examination, yet the forced labor camp used various excuses and refused the request. The lawyer received pressure from many sources because of Li's case. In order to free the lawyer from all the trouble, Li's family members terminated the contract they had with him.

5) Practitioner Zhang Dezhou lives in Shewei Village, Jiuzhou Town (of Xixiu District, Anshun City, Guizhou Province). In April 2001, Zhang was arrested at a brainwashing center. The persecutors sentenced him to 2 and half years of forced labor. About 6 months after Zhang was released from the forced labor camp, he was abducted again on June 8, 2004. The perpetrators also ransacked his home. Currently, Zhang is detained in the No. 1 Detention Center of Anshun City.

Persecutors and their Crimes

The police in Shouguang City, Shandong Province persecute practitioner Wang Zhongyun and Zhang Keliang (husband and wife). On the morning of November 28, 2001, three plainclothes police officers abducted Wang Zhongyun from his/her workplace. In the detention center, Wang suffered from a sudden and serious stroke, resulting in semi paralysis. As a result, the police had to release him. On September 3, 2001, the couple was arrested together. They were later sent to a brainwashing class held by the "610 Office." (2) In order to avoid the persecution and harassment, the couple had to live in various places away from home, and leave their 10-year-old child and 80-year-old mother living there without anyone to care for them. The child and the elderly grandmother then went back to their native home in a rural area. However, the police followed the child and elderly woman. It has been reported that the police often break into their home and interrogate them, constantly frightening the child and elderly lady.

Police officer Zhao Huidong in Haigang District Police Sub-department (Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province) used to attack Dafa during brainwashing sessions held by the police in 1999, which attempted to force about 100 practitioners to renounce their belief in Falun Dafa. The persecutors' efforts failed. Instead, the brainwashing session provided practitioners an opportunity to share their experiences. Later on, the police separated the practitioners from each other and brutally tortured them individually, trying to force them to renounce their belief. Around June 8, 2003, Zhao Huidong directly participated in abducting practitioners and interrogated practitioner, Dong Junming. Zhao also arrested practitioner, Bi Yanzhen, and sent her to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City even though she failed the medical examination and was found to be in poor health. Because Bi failed the medical examination, the forced labor camp refused to take her in.

Crimes of Police Chief Jin Shengguan, from the Bajiazi Area, Helong City (Jilin Province). On February 25, 2004, practitioner Ms. Wu Yanjun, Wu Yanli and her child were arrested while clarifying the truth in public. Guard Zhao Baolin beat Wu Yanjun in front of Police Chief, Jin Shengguan. As a result, Wu Yanjun's right eye was badly bruised and swollen. Zhao even beat Wu Yanjun's child. Jin Shengguan ignored the brutal torture. Wu Yanjun had 5,000 Yuan extorted from her and is currently detained in the Bajiazi Detention Center. The authorities plan to transfer her to the local court.

(1) yuan is the Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly salary of an urban worker in China.

(2) The "610 Office" is an agency specifically established to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
