(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th of July practitioners from England and Scotland staged an exhibition in the centre of Edinburgh to expose the terrifying torture methods used on people who practise Falun Gong in China. Four of the many torture methods used to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their beliefs and betray their conscience were exposed in Edinburgh: Practitioners were imprisoned in two cages, hung by the wrists and suffered the tiger bench torture1.

The response from the public was very supportive, with many people visibly moved. Approximately 1700 petition signatures were collected and even more leaflets were given out.

One young Chinese girl said that Dafa practitioners are very brave. She believed that one day Dafa will again be practised by many people openly in China. Another Chinese lady from Beijing thought it was great that Westerners are supporting the practitioners in China. Some members of the public showed concern for the practitioners acting as torture victims, as it must be uncomfortable to stay in awkward positions for a long time. One lady stroked the arm of a female "victim" and said "thank you for doing this." Some people wept when they saw the torture exhibits. People warmly shook hands with a practitioner in support. Two Italian students immediately signed the petition as soon they heard the words, "Truthfulness - Compassion - Tolerance". Many people from Taiwan were very positive about the exhibition.

(1) Tiger Bench - Practitioners are forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6inches) tall. Practitioners' knees are tightly tied on the small bench -- "Tiger Bench." He has to sit straight up with his eyes looking straight ahead. His hands are tied on the back or sometimes placed on his knees. He is not allowed to turn his head, close his eyes, talk to anyone, raise his hand, or call out for the attention of the guards. Many inmates are assigned to watch the practitioner. If he turns his head, they would force the practitioner to hold his hands in the air indefinitely. If he speaks, they would force his mouth to remain open indefinitely. Usually bricks or similar objects are inserted underneath the practitioner's lower legs or ankles to make it harder for them to tolerate the abuse.
