Facts of the Persecution

On May 1, 2004, one day before their wedding day, a young couple of Falun Dafa practitioners (the man's name was Mr. Qi Mingli) was abducted by Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province State Security police, and detained in two separate detention centers in Jinzhou City. Mr. Qi's mother-in-law, Guo Yi, also a Falun Dafa practitioner, was detained as well. We heard Mr. Qi has been on hunger strike, and his life is in danger. Police have sent him to the hospital for medical treatment twice. He is still on hunger strike. Witnesses said he is incredibly thin, and that he is beyond recognition. He has no strength left to speak.

Falun Dafa practitioner Zhan Shunrong is a family member of a retired employee of Daqing Youjian Company in Heilongjiang Province. She went to appeal for Falun Dafa in October 1999, and was detained and abused for 30 days. She was then detained by the employer for another 30 days. Upon returning home, she was only skin and bones. On February 18, 2000, police arrested her again, put handcuffs and shackles on her, slapped her face, force-fed her, and so on. She was abused for three months. She went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing in November 2000 to validate the Fa, was detained again. Later she was sent to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center and abused both mentally and physically until her release in June 2001. On June 25, 2003, she was abducted and taken to the Hongweixing Brainwashing Class in Daqing City. She could not walk after only five days of abuse in the class.
