The Chinese Embassy in South Korea continues to publish various articles defaming Falun Gong on its website. Accordingly, the Falun Dafa Association in South Korea has issued the following statement:

1) The practice of Falun Gong is based on the principle of Truth-Compassion-Tolerance. It can elevate one's morality and improve one's health, benefiting both society and the general public. In South Korea, practicing Falun Gong is protected by the law. However, over the past several years, the Chinese Embassy in South Korea has published various articles on its website to defame and attack Falun Gong. The embassy's action has harmed the reputation of and violated the human rights of Falun Gong practitioners. Such behavior has in fact violated the law of South Korea.

2) In order to restore the reputation of Falun Gong, safeguard practitioners' legal right to cultivate, and to let people have a clear understanding of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa Association in South Korea brought a lawsuit against the embassy on March 30, 2004. Recently we found that the embassy has removed 17 articles from the "News" column of its website that attack Falun Gong, but one article still remains in that column. In response to this, the Falun Dafa Association issued a statement on June 19 urging the embassy to immediately stop all kinds of attacks on Falun Gong and to remove all articles from its website attacking Falun Gong.

On June 20, the embassy deleted the last article that defames Falun Gong in the "News" column. However, there are still 14 articles (6 in Korean and 8 in English) remaining in its "Chat" Column. We urge the embassy to remove all articles slandering Falun Gong.

3) If the embassy does not remove the slanderous articles unconditionally and immediately, then we reserve the right to take any necessary action (including a lawsuit) until the embassy removes such slanderous articles.
