Facts of the Persecution

1. The perpetrators at the Jiamusi City Forced Labor Camp abuse and torture Falun Gong practitioners, such as subjecting determined practitioners to a method called "Hung up with hands cuffed behind the back" [With both hands cuffed behind the back, both feet off or only toes touching the ground, one is hung by the handcuffs onto the basketball support or house beam. Both hands and arms will soon lose sensory perception. In addition, both hands will go numb from lack of blood circulation]. Dafa Practitioner Wang Yingxia's right hand was permanently disabled and practitioner Ms. Tong Li's leg was crippled from this torture.

2. On May 26, 2004, more than a dozen Dafa practitioners met at the home of practitioner E Haixu in Hongxing Village, Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province. A neighbor reported them and as a result, 14 practitioners including Li Shoutian, Sun Yijun, Tan Fenghua, Sun Peichen, Xu Baolin, Yan Fengwu, Zhang Qiuyan, E Haixu, his wife and father were arrested and sent to the No. 2 Detention Center in Yilan County.

3. My name is Jin Yanjie and I lived in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province where I used to own a barbershop. After the persecution against Falun Dafa began, the police often came to my barbershop and my home to harass me. I was forced to close my shop and my life became very difficult. One day, police from the city criminal police division abducted me when I was distributing flyers which explained the facts about Falun Dafa and exposed the crimes of the persecution. The police held me for one-and-a-half months and brutally beat me. As a result of the torture, I became emaciated and my body was covered with scabies. After I was released I was compelled to leave home. Then they abducted my daughter Zhang Nan. They refused to release her even after my family paid 13,000 Yuan. She was released when she contracted meningitis and was on the brink of death.

4. The personnel at the Liyuzhuang Brainwashing Class in Dingxing County, Hebei Province savagely torture Dafa practitioners. Dafa practitioner Ma Shuhui was beaten unconscious, practitioner Wen Hongjun was tortured until he couldn't urinate or defecate for seven days and seven nights and his eyeballs became jaundiced. The personnel dragged him by his handcuffed hands while others beat and kicked him from behind until he could no longer walk. Wen Hongjun had two visits to the hospital emergency room during his detention. Practitioner Lu Yuhui's fingers on his left hand were broken from the beating, and his legs were beaten until he could not walk. Practitioner Ma Yumei was handcuffed to a tree with her clothes stripped off for a whole night.

5. Around 5:00 a.m. on March 3, 2004, perpetrators from Dingxing County, Hebei Province broke into the homes of Dafa practitioners Lu Yuhui, Lu Guiying and Yang Jinxia. They took Yang Jinxia to the county government. Around 5:00 a.m. on April 30, 2004, perpetrators from the Dingxing County Police Department broke into the homes of Dafa practitioners Hu Zichun and Sun Yongqi in Lijiazhuang Village, Yaocun Township. They abducted Hu Zichun, his wife and Sun Yongqi and his wife. During the same morning they also abducted practitioner Wang Bingliang. They sent the practitioners to the Liyuzhuang Brainwashing Class.

6. Three Dafa practitioners including Han Guiyan from Qinglong County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa and were arrested and sent to the Tiananmen Police Department. The police slapped their faces and tortured them with the method called "Small Swallow Flying" [Practitioners' lower bodies are tied onto the floor.  Six to ten people hold practitioner's arms and pull backwards.  Some of them bend the practitioner's head and upper body down until practitioner's forehead touches knees. The forced labor camp performs this kind of torture for several or over ten hours every time] and burned the practitioners' hands with cigarettes. Six police officers beat Ms. Han Guiyan and they rammed her head into the cement floor and against a wall. As the result of the torture, Han Guiyan could not stand up and could not move her head and shoulder. Later, the three practitioners were sent to the Hebei Province Liaison Office in Beijing. The three practitioners were tortured and slapped faces countless times until their bodies were covered with bruises. The next day they were sent to Qinglong County Detention Center. Later, Han Guiyan's son had to pay 900 Yuan so he could to take his mother home.

7. On May 19, the Haizhou District Court in Fuxin City, Liaoning Province secretly tried Dafa practitioner Lu Liangna who had been held at the Xindi Detention Center for one year. It was learned that she is going to receive a three-year prison sentence. Lu Liangna's mother was sentenced to forced labor for distributing Dafa truth clarification flyers and was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, completely in violation of the Chinese constitution.

8. My name is Jia Xuemei and I went to Beijing to appeal in June 2000. I was arrested and held at the Mentougou Detention Center in Beijing for nearly 20 days and was then sent to the Wuqing Detention Center in Tianjin City. The perpetrators forced me to wear handcuffs and 18-jin shackles; they shocked me with electric batons and later sent me back to the local police department where I was detained for eleven days and fined 5,000 Yuan. I was arrested again in September 2001. I was released after holding a 20-day hunger strike and paying a 4,000 Yuan fine. During this period, the head of the police department and persons from the "610 Office" extorted more than 10,000 Yuan from my family. During a large-scale arrest in 2002 I was compelled to leave home and returned in September 2003.

Perpetrators and their crimes

1. On April 30, 2004, Dafa practitioners Chen Ying, Wei Danquan, Wu Wenzhang and others painted signs that explained the facts about the persecution of Falun Dafa on a mountain during their trip to Shanhaiguan [official channels of appeal are blocked and censored by the government so practitioners have to resort to various means to expose the persecution]. They were arrested and tortured. The perpetrators at Division 1 from the Shanhaiguan Police Department in Qinhuangdao City tied a practitioner with four ropes, but he didn't say anything.

2. Guard Wang Yongheng at the Shanhaiguan Detention Center is very malicious toward Dafa practitioners and tortured practitioner Wu Wenzhang who had been on hunger strike for several days by hanging him up in the air from a beam by his handcuffs.

3. On November 20, 2000, practitioner Liu Li, an employee from the Daqing City Petroleum and Chemical Corporation Cleaning Company was arrested when going to Beijing to appeal. She was held at the Daqing City Detention Center for one month and then her family was permitted to take her home. After she returned to work, Hao Chunmei, a corrupt official at the company, slandered Dafa at a company meeting and tried to force Liu Li to write a guarantee statement to renounce Falun Gong. She also ordered other employees to write guarantee statements to promise they won't practice Falun Gong, and deducted 100 Yuan from each employee's salary as "deposit." She also told Liu Li she will lose the 100 Yuan if she went to Beijing again and said, "if you stop practicing Falun Gong, the company will pay for all the expenses incurred in picking you up and bringing you back." Liu Li sternly refused. In the end Liu Li was forced to pay for all the expenses.

4. On March 4, 2004, Zhang Yongxin, the head of Division 1 of the Chicheng County Police Department abducted practitioner Wang Weihua from Chicheng County, Hebei Province when distributing truth clarification flyers. He secretly sent Wang Weihua to another town and personally escorted him to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province ten days later. He didn't notify Wang Weihua's family about his situation and refused to tell them when they asked.
