Facts of the Persecution
Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Zhaohua was an employee of the Hailaer Railway Station in northeast China. Because of his determination in practicing Falun Dafa, a group of police officers seized and detained him twice, and on the second occasion, they sentenced him to a seven-year prison term. Mr. Zhang is currently detained in Beian Prison of Heilongjiang Province. Cruel prison guards often keep him in a small cell (i.e., in solitary confinement), and on top of that they severely torture him both physically and mentally. Recently, the prison guards have intensified their torture of Mr. Zhang. While he is still kept in the small cell, he is also brutally tortured by shackling his four limbs to a wall, causing him to be unable to move. He is only provided with 100 grams of rice each day and because of this Mr. Zhang has now become emaciated and suffers from chills. Mr. Zhang is presently in a life-threatening condition.
Zhang Yuhua is a Falun Dafa practitioner in the town of Jianchangying, in the Yuanbaoshan District located in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. Because of her determination in practicing Falun Dafa, in July of 2002 Ms. Zhang Yuhua was sent to Hohhot Women's Labor Camp for one year. According to witnesses, Ms. Zhang Yuhua began a hunger strike about a year ago. She has become extremely emaciated and has difficulty walking. The labor camp guards added extensions to Ms. Zhang Yuhua's prison term on several occasions, including a seven-month extension.
Chen Guoxiang is a 54-year old Falun Dafa practitioner from Wengniute, a part of Chifeng City in Inner Mongolia. In November of 1999, Mr. Chen went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. For this he was detained for one month, and had 200 Yuan (1) confiscated from him. Mr. Chen had been released, but on June 24, 2000 he and his wife and son were all detained again. In August of 2000, his wife was sent to Tumuji Labor Camp in Zhaqi area to serve a two-year term. After she returned home, two years later, she was further persecuted by being sent back and forth to a brainwashing center numerous times. After 14 months of illegal detention, in August of 2001, Mr. Chen and his son were sent to Tumuji Labor Camp to serve a three-year term. During the time they spent there they have endured brutal tortures, but they have never given in to their persecutors, who wanted them to give up practicing Falun Gong. In mid-April of 2003, Mr. Chen and his son were taken from the labor camp to a brainwashing center. Then on July 2, 2003, Mr. Chen was sent to the Wengqi Detention Center for a six month period of illegal detention and finally released. According to rumors, Mr. Chen was secretly sent to a labor camp in January of 2004. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
Zhang Lifang is a Dafa practitioner from Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province. On December 8, 2003, police in Fuyu County seized Zhang Lifang along with more than 30 other Dafa practitioners. The "610 Office" (2) purposefully tortured Zhang Lifang, Zeng Fenglian and Liu Yanbo. They are currently being kept at the Fuyu County Detention Center. When they were interrogated, prison guards cruelly used many torture methods on them. The guards continuously slapped them for an extended period of time, pricked their fingers with a needle, suffocated them with smoke, beat them on the head with wooden batons, beat them with electric batons, hung them up, and forced them to sit on iron chairs for extended periods of time. Another torture method used on them was to hang them up by their hands from heating pipes, with only their toes touching the floor. Then two vicious police guards stood on both sides of them and firmly stepped on their toes, while violently pinching their arms, their underarms and ribs.
Li Yongjun and his wife Dai Yanhong are both Dafa practitioners from the town of Huajing in the Tianhe District of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. In late April of 2004, Guangzhou City police searched this couple's home, ransacking their property in the process. The police apprehended Dai Yanhong, and as for Li Yongjun, his whereabouts are currently unknown. During approximately the same time period, the Guangzhou City police apprehended another Dafa practitioner, Mao Jingxian, who was living at East Tiyu Road in the Tianhe District of Guangzhou City. Six days later Mao Jingxian was released. She had been previously captured three times by the police from the East Tiyu Road Police Station and by the Guangzhou City Police Department.
Qu Zhenfan was a surgeon working at Taihe Hospital in Shiyan City, Hubei Province. On June 2, 2004, together with 7 or 8 policemen, Ji Lancheng from the Shiyan City "610 Office" seized Qu Zhenfan from his home. Qu Zhenfan is not a Falun Dafa practitioner, but his father is. Qu Zhenfan's father was apprehended by the "610 Office" in September of 2003, and was forced to leave his home ever since. Because the police could not find him, they started to cruelly persecute his son, Qu Zhenfan.
Wang Liyang and Wang Liping are brothers who live in the village of Zhonglao, located in the town of Xidayingzi, which is within the Longcheng District of Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. Each of the two brothers has a happy four-member family of their own. However, since the persecution started in July of 1999, these two families have been senselessly victimized by the persecution. Police from the Longcheng Police Department and the Xidayingzi Police Station have harassed these families many times. The two brothers were also apprehended numerous times and brutally beaten and tortured. In November of 2002 both brothers were sentenced to prison terms. Wang Liyang was given a 6-year term and Wang Liping was given a 7-year term. They are now currently detained in Shenyang Prison. Their mother, who suffered from sorrow and extreme shock because of the persecution of her family, died in December 2002.
According to inside sources, officers in Beijing City's "610 Office" plotted with Xia Qiang, Party Secretary of Miyun County. They discussed the possibility of having experimental brainwashing centers in Miyun County, and about brainwashing a number of practitioners whose names they had obtained. They also planned to ransack the homes of these practitioners.
My name is Han Zhiheng, and I am a Dafa practitioner in the village of Ertun located in the town of Niujia in Wuchang City of Heilongjiang Province. At the end of 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. In Beijing I was arrested, taken back to my hometown, and detained. In order to protest our detainment I went on a hunger strike with more than ten other practitioners. We were force-fed in a brutal manner with highly concentrated saltwater mixed with corn flour. During those days of force-feeding I was vomiting blood and water every day. After being fed the saltwater, my body felt terrible, and my stomach felt like it was burning. By the 16th day of the hunger strike, I felt extremely weak and my body was twitching. I also vomited a dark brown substance but the guards still did not release me. After being tortured in the detention center for five months, I was transferred to the Third Brainwashing Class held by the "610 Office" in Wuchang City. Also more than 10,000 Yuan was extorted from me.
The Truth and People's Hearts
There is a nine-year-old boy living in Yi County of Jinzhou City. In mid-May of 2003, he had blisters all over his body. The boy's blisters were itchy and painful and discharged pus whenever they broke open. His mother bought many different types of medicine, but could still not cure her son's ailment. As a last resort, his mother sent him to his aunt who practices Falun Gong. Because the boy was still very young, his aunt just played the lectures for him to listen to. His aunt also told him to memorize the phrase "Falun Dafa is great" and "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance." Four days later the blisters were gone and the boy's skin was smooth over his whole body. His family members were extremely happy, saying, "Falun Dafa is really magnificent!"
The following is a story from a practitioner living in North America: In May of 2001, I was working the night shift in a small hotel, about one hour away from my home in Los Angeles, California. One morning, I was in a hurry driving home after my night shift. I was very tired, most likely due to my consecutive workdays. After driving for a while, I became very sleepy, and my eyes closed. When I suddenly woke up and opened my eyes, I found my car already out of the right lane and about to hit another car. Instinctually, I turned the steering wheel hard and the car spun fast with great force. I am unsure of how many circles it spun, but apparently the spinning had slowed down the driving speed. Finally, the rear bumper slightly touched the roadside concrete barriers. I was totally fine, but I found that all four tires had been torn.

Yang Jianbo is a Dafa practitioner from Langfang City, Hebei Province who was detained in the No.1 Hebei Province Labor Camp, located at Kaiping District in Tangshan City. Yang Jianbo has been on hunger strike for nearly four months, and is now in a life-threatening situation. The following Tangshan City practitioners were sentenced: Sun Jianzhong (7 years), Han Xueyu (7 years), An Zhenjie (7 years), Zhang Yunping (8 years), and Zhang Jinlu (3 years). On April 15, 2004, these practitioners were sent to Jidong Prison in Nanbao, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Let us work together as one body, for the urgent rescue of fellow practitioners who are brutally persecuted.
