After July 20, 1999, in the darkest days, many Falun Dafa practitioners were beaten, arrested, fined large sums of money, put into labor camps and even tortured to death because they clarified the truth. However, we are still persistently clarifying the truth.
In the last two years, I have almost always clarified the truth or distributed materials to people face to face. I have gone street-to-street and house-to-house by bicycle. No matter whom I met such as passersby, building workers, businessmen, or ordinary folks I would give them the materials explaining the facts about Falun Gong. I would ask, "Do you know about Falun Gong?" Then I would say, "You must have seen the lies on the TV, which are totally false and slander Falun Gong. Don't believe in it; Falun Dafa is the law of the universe and a righteous teaching. Falun Dafa teaches people to be good people, briefly using three words, 'Zhen Shan Ren' (truth, goodness, tolerance). Falun Dafa has been spread to over sixty countries and received worldwide praise, but only the Jiang regime has suppressed Falun Gong. Your knowing the facts is your good fortune. To remember 'Zhen Shan Ren' will bring a good future for you." Then when I presented the materials to them they accepted them with pleasure. If the person didn't agree with what I said, I still remained peaceful and tranquil and told him, "As long as you keep in your heart the words 'Falun Dafa is good', you will have a good future." The more I spoke, the purer my mind became. The compassion grew as my attachment to fear diminished.
At one time I met a builder worker. After clarifying the truth, I gave him several copies of the materials that told the truth about Falun Dafa and said, "Many people are working at the building site. You can take some and pass them to other workers, but you should be careful to not let other people notice. He calmly said, "Who would dare to intervene!" I felt ashamed. I proved not to be as good as an everyday person who had no attachment to fear.
One time I was clarifying the truth to the workers who were building a house. The person who was working on the ground said, "I don't want to listen to you or read those materials." Another person was just looking at me without saying anything. I said, "Knowing the truth will bring you good fortune. Supporting Falun Dafa will allow you to obtain happiness." He accepted the truth-clarifying CD. One of the people who was working on the house frame said, "Don't watch that." I clarified the truth to them by speaking loud enough so that others around could hear the facts. Later on everybody asked for the materials. Another person who was just working on the house frame said, "I want a CD." The person who just said to not watch it said, "He is our supervisor. I also want a CD." I felt gratified. Why should I be afraid?
One day I passed by a busy crossroad carrying the truth-clarifying materials with me. Some workers were paving the road. I approached one person and said, "Do you want to know the facts about Falun Gong?" He shook his head and pointed at another person beside him and said, "Just give him the materials to read." That person also said that he didn't want it. I took out one truth-clarifying CD and put it on the pile of bricks. One person came to take it away. I pointed at this person and said, "This is a person who is really bringing good fortune to himself." Then all the workers came around and took the CDs, booklets, and even took the bag for the materials. Many vehicles came by and many workers were gathered there to get the Falun Dafa materials, which was obviously a big deal and not so secure. But I didn't think about it too much. I really saw that people are going to learn Falun Dafa and they are waiting to receive Falun Dafa materials. Many people were poisoned by the lies. We should really let go of the attachment to fear, and clarify the truth to them selflessly.
I took all these chances to clarify the truth. One time I went along with my husband to his friend's home for a party. They asked me why I just showed up this time and not before. I said that I was detained many times by Jiang's political followers because I practiced Falun Dafa. Then I started to clarify the truth. But they made no response to what I was saying. At least I was able to explain the facts to them.
After one year, my husband invited them to our house. As Fa-rectification continued, I was improving and upgrading myself. Once again I clarified the truth to them. Their attitudes were very different from the time before. A government employee who was working in a medical college held up his thumb and said, "I respect the solidarity of Falun Gong." I said, "This is the power of the Great Fa." A cadre who was working in the Construction Committee said: "I respect your forbearance." Another person who was a manager said: "You are right. You didn't commit any bad deeds. What can they do to you?" He also followed what I said when I explained our Teachers words of, "telling the truth, doing things truthfully, living with compassion, and taking a step back in a conflict you will find the seas and the skies boundless." He remarked on how reasonable this principle was while we were having a lively discussion, a friend came in who hadn't taken part in this kind of party for several years because of illness. I intentionally invited him. He came by taxi. When he stepped in the door, he looked pale and gasped for breath. He was suffering from pulmonary emphysema. Everybody said to me with one voice, "Hurry up and save him." They were speaking from their hearts. Indeed he felt very good in this environment. I gave the truth-clarifying materials to each of them. Buddha's immense compassion is saving sentient beings. The people who know the truth dare to speak in their favor. They are praising Falun Dafa. This is their righteous thought.
A fellow practitioner's husband, after knowing the facts, supported Falun Gong and helped to clarify the truth and promote Falun Dafa to various people. On Falun Dafa Day, several practitioners were studying the Fa in his home. At noon he prepared a table of different dishes of food for us. He told me, "I read your article of rectifying the Fa. You have suffered so much hardship, it is really..." He was in tears and said, "Your coming to my house is my good fortune." This came from his conscience and kind thoughts. He also told me that one day his lower back was hurt and he just recited "Falun Dafa is good" every morning and his lower back stopped hurting. Before, he had surgery for a stomach ulcer and also suffered from high blood pressure. But presently he didn't take medicine and was very healthy. On the day of his mother's birthday, just as I stepped in the door, he said, "Big sister is here. Hurry up and tell the facts to my sisters." Then I told the facts about Falun Dafa and the persecution to his elder sisters from the Northeast and his younger sister from Laiyang. The result was very good. His elder sister was suffering from constipation and had no bowel movement for five days. While she was listening, suddenly she felt the need to go to the bathroom and relieved herself. And her thumb was also no longer numb. She was very happy and said, "Falun Gong is a miracle. I will practice it." The younger sister also wanted to learn to practice it. Once again I felt Teacher's immense benevolence.
At one time I asked an old man who was repairing bicycles in the market, "Big brother, do you want some Falun Dafa materials?" He said, "I like to read the Falun Dafa truth clarification materials the best. Do you have a CD?" He made a fist to show support and said, "Falun Gong will succeed!" He looked very happy.
Buddha's immense compassion is saving sentient beings. It is Teacher who is waking up people's consciences and kind thoughts and saving sentient beings. That I could clarify the truth more clearly is a good way that Teacher arranged to improve us. Cultivating in the hardship and cultivating in the practice, we can eliminate our various attachments and have compassion, and then we can upgrade to the realm of selflessness from the bottom of selfishness and selfness. Afterwards I will be more diligent and do these three things well so as to fulfill our vows.
