Persecution Facts

Six Dafa practitioners from Shanhaiguan City including Wei Danquan were abducted by police when discovered painting truth clarification signs in Jiaoshan on April 30. They were first held at the Shanhaiguan Detention Center and then transferred to the No. 1 Detention Center in Qinhuangdao City. Wei Danquan held a hunger strike and refused to cooperate with the police. He was weak and had a relapse of his tuberculosis. This was his third relapse and the police released him when he was on the brink of death. On June 4, the police sent him home on medical parole.

Police abducted Dafa practitioner Zhang Qiyong on May 2, 2004. He was later transferred to the Qijiang County Detention Center where the guards tortured him. One day, a loudspeaker outside the detention center blasted Dafa truth clarification messages. The guards were furious and forbid Zhang Qiyong to sleep for five days and five nights. Then they tried to force him tell who put the loudspeaker there.

On April 2, 2004, officers Li Chunyu and Li Gang from the Yi County National Security Bureau and Wang Zhanli from the police department abducted Dafa practitioners Wu Yuhong, Zhang Dianguo, and Zhang Lijun from Yi County, Jinzhou City and sent them to forced labor camps. Practitioner Wu Yuhong, was held at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for one year, practitioner Zhang Dianguo was held at Jinzhou Labor Camp for two years, and Zhang Lijun was held at the Jinzhou Labor Camp for one year.

My husband Chen Yifang was detained at the Jinhua Police Station in Shehong County, Sichuan Province for practicing Dafa. He was later sentenced to two years of forced labor and is now being held at Mianyang City Forced Labor Camp in Sichuan Province. Authorities from the Jinhua Police Station ransacked my home numerous times. They also called his 73-year-old mother to the police station and interrogated her. I used to run a business making the energy-efficient stove cores. I was arrested because I wrote "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance" at the bottom of the product manual. Soon after my arrest, my mother passed away from shock and worry over my situation.
