1. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Truth-Clarification Broadcast Over the Changliu Detention Center
On April 20, 2004, more than 20 Dafa practitioners were arrested and taken to the Changliu Detention Center. In order to shock the evildoers, a few practitioners decided to set up several loud speakers nearby, and after adequate preparation, at around 8:50 p.m. on April 20, the melodious "Pudu" music ('Save All Living Beings') resounded over the detention center.
2. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] More than A Dozen Practitioners are Put into a Brainwashing Center Around May 1st
Since April 27, 2004, policemen from Xingtai City's "610 Office" (1) and from the Police Department have arrested more than a dozen practitioners from the city. Most of them were from the Qiaoxi District. The practitioners whose names can be confirmed are: Ji Zhilan, Zhang Jinsheng, Li Zichang, Wang Zixiang and a relative of his (also a practitioner), Zhao and Wang Jianshe from the city's No.3 Hospital, a female practitioner from the city's No. 1 Middle School, a female practitioner from the city's No. 8 Middle School, Hao Huaimin from the Property Tax Bureau and a male practitioner from the Nanshimen District, Xingtai County. Most of them are being held at Xingtai City's Brainwashing Center.
On May 8, police arrested Wang Jianshe from the city's No.3 Hospital and put him in the Special Cases Team in the hostel affiliated with Xingtai City's Mineral Bureau. The police turned his home upside down and confiscated his computer. The lawless personnel secretly set up a prison in the hostel. They beat Wang Jianshe so badly that his body was covered with bruises. Furthermore, they locked him up in an iron cage that was made especially for torturing Dafa practitioners.
It was reported that policemen force all the practitioners sent to the brainwashing center to write the so-called "Four Statements (2)" and extort 2,600 Yuan (3) from each of them. Those who refuse to write the statements were sent to Xingtai City's Detention Center or the detention centers in their respective counties.

3. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Officers from the Lushan District Police Department Arrest a Practitioner's Son
On April 2, a practitioner and her family member(s) went to Yujiahe in the Lushan District to paste up truth-clarifying materials. When officers from the Yujiahe Police tried to arrest her, her son Cai Hao, a non-practitioner, attempted to protect his mother, and she managed to escape with the power of her righteous thoughts. The angry policemen went so far as to arrest her son. At noontime, the family went to the police station to demand the release of the son, but the personnel had already sent him to the Lushan District Police Department and detained him.

4. [Ningyang County, Shandong Province] Elderly Practitioner Hai Delan Held in a Brainwashing Center for Distributing Dafa Truth Clarification Material
During the afternoon of April 21, 2004, police arrested 65-year-old practitioner Ms. Hai Delan from Ningyang County, Shandong Province, when she was distributing truth clarification information. She is currently being held in the Zhoucun Brainwashing Center in Zibo City. Meanwhile, her home was searched. When she was sent to the brainwashing center, her family members had three thousand Yuan in cash extorted from them. The brainwashing center is located at the Zhoucun No.2 Female Labor Camp in Zibo City, Shandong Province.
5. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Elderly Practitioner Yang Hua Held in a Brainwashing Center for Posting Truth Clarification Material
On April 29, 2004, Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Hua (over 60 years old), a retired employee from Shijiazhuang City's Synthetic Fertilizer Factory was arrested while posting Dafa truth clarification information in Xisanzhuang. Now she has been sent to Hebei Province's capital brainwashing center.
6. [Luan County, Hebei Province] Ongoing Detention of Dafa Practitioner Wu Xingjun in Luan County's Detention Center
Practitioner Mr. Wu Xingjun from Luan County, Hebei Province, was working at Luan County's Technical Supervision and Administration Bureau. He was arrested on July 20, 1999 and on September 23, 1999 he was illegally sentenced to four years of imprisonment in violation of the Chinese constitution. On September 22, 2003, when his prison term had expired, he was not released back home but sent to Luan County's Detention Center and has been held there since then.

8. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioners Zhang Jiying and Niu Yuzhen for Distributing Dafa Truth-clarifying Materials
On April 8 or 9, 2004, Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhang Jiying, 58 years old, and Ms. Niu Yuzhen, 67 years old, from Huajianzi Township, went to a village to distribute truth-clarifying materials, but someone reported them. Thus in the middle of the night, four officers from Hengren County's Police Department arrested and took them to a detention center.
At 5:00 a.m. the next day, policemen went to arrest 68-year-old Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Guirong. Because Liu Guirong had symptoms of heart disease she was not taken away, but the police confiscated all Dafa books.
In addition, Dafa practitioner Hu Ximei, about 50 years old, from Gucheng City, was also arrested and taken to a detention center for distributing truth-clarifying materials.
9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Zhang Hong for Writing Banners to Clarify the Truth of Falun Gong
Dafa practitioner Zhang Hong is from the Dongli District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. During the night of May 8, 2004 when he was creating Falun Gong truth-clarifying banners near the Dongfeng Prison at Dongfeng Town, Taiping District, Harbin City, an armed policemen on duty at the prison's watchtower reported him, resulting in the practitioner's arrest. On May 9 he was sent to Harbin City's No.2 Detention Center, also known as Yaziquan.

- "610 Office": an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems
- Four statements: Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. Concocted by the "610 Office," the three statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners.
