(Clearwisdom.net) Since May 2000, Falun Gong practitioners from all over the world have celebrated May 13 as World Falun Dafa Day. This is the fifth year that Dallas practitioners have welcomed and celebrated this special day.

Introducing Falun Dafa in Downtown Dallas
On the afternoon of May 13, some local practitioners brought the "Falun Dafa Reader" newsletter that had just been printed in the morning and went to downtown Dallas. They distributed the newsletters near the subway station, where a constant stream of people came and went. A female practitioner brought her two children, one of whom was only one year old. Another practitioner took a day off to attend the activity on this special day. She said, "On this special day, I wish more people would learn about Dafa and more people will have a chance to read our newsletters."
Because it was a weekday, there was a constant flow of passengers, who often needed to wait for a while at the station before their train arrived. This also provided a good opportunity for them to learn about Falun Gong. Almost all the passengers accepted our newsletters and read it while waiting for their train. We were quite touched by the scene. We thank Teacher for his great compassion!
Several hundred copies of the newsletter were distributed in a short period of time.
Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day at Asian Town in Arlington
On Saturday, May 15, local practitioners went to Asian Town in Arlington and celebrated World Falun Dafa Day in front of the Hong Kong Supermarket.
Bright, colorful banners with the words, "Falun Dafa" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" were hung on the corridor poles and were very eye-catching in the sunshine. Practitioners also displayed banners with English words, "Falun Dafa", "Falun Dafa is great" and "Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day" In addition, practitioners set up the truth-clarifying posters close to the shops and restaurants so that passersby could see them.
This year, apart from group practice as usual, practitioners also sang songs composed by fellow practitioners. The melodious music and the heartfelt performances attracted shoppers and passersby. Minghui School students recited several poems from Hong Yin, and performed a few songs.
The celebration provided the opportunity to exhibit the beauty of Dafa and clarify the truth to people.
A passerby said when accepting the newsletter, that he knew about Falun Gong because his 80-year-old mother practices Falun Gong and she is very healthy. Another person told practitioners, "I know that Falun Gong is great, because my elder sister also practices Falun Gong!"
Like other events to introduce Falun Gong, we always encounter people with predestined relationships. While accepting the newsletter, a middle-aged woman chatted with a practitioner, and she became very interested in the practice and wanted to go to the practice site to learn the exercises. An older practitioner continuously distributed the truth clarifying materials from the beginning until the end. A lady who was selling things nearby gave her a chair and asked her to take a rest. The lady also asked her to come again the next day.
