1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Police Ransack the Shop of Two Dafa Practitioners and Arrest Them
Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhu Hanying and Ms. Jiang Ming own a food store on Famous Snacks Lane in the Wuchang District, Wuhan City. After 2 p.m. on March 19, 2004, more than 30 policemen from the Wuchang District Zhonghua Road Local Police Station came to their store. They looted it and stole all the cash, including the small change. They falsely claimed that the money was for Falun Gong activities. Then they covered Zhu Hanying and Jiang Ming with a sack, brutally beat them and put them into a police car. The police also searched Ms. Zhu's home on the ninth floor of a community building in Jiulongjing and confiscated 4,000 yuan in cash [500 yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China], which was to cover living expenses. The whereabouts of Zhu Hanying and Jiang Ming are still unknown, and their family members do not know how to redress this injustice.
2. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Two Dafa Practitioners Are Abducted
On February 17, 2004, the police illegally arrested Falun Gong practitioners Xiao Yang (alias) and Ms. Yang of Zhangjiakou City from her home. They were taken to the Shisanli Detention Center, where they are still being held. The police confiscated a computer, a printer and any consumable goods. The amount of cash they took is not known. Details are under further investigation.
3. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] The Lingfeng Local Police Station Arrests and Extorts Money from Dafa Practitioner Ms. Chen Xiuqin; Practitioner Cui Yongxiao's Home Is Ransacked
Around 3 p.m. on March 4, 2004, the son-in-law of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Xiuqin, Zhang Jianbo, informed on her. Officers from the Lingfeng Police Station, including police officer Qi Zongmin, arrested her and tried to extort 3,000 yuan from her family, to secure her release. Ms. Chen's family members reluctantly borrowed the money for her release, but could only come up with 1,800 yuan, which they gave to Qi Zongmin. Only then was Ms. Chen was released.
About 7:30 p.m. on March 12, 2004, Lingfeng Local Police Station officers Tian Xiaoyang, Han Xiaolong, Qi Zongmin and the driver, Da Gang, broke into into Falun Gong practitioner Cui Yongxiao's home, and confiscated all the Falun Gong literature and tapes.

4. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Mr. Ma Xirui is
Taken to a Brainwashing Center
After 2 p.m. on February 20, 2004, Fu Wenhe, director of the Xinhua District, Dubei Township, Chen Village Public Security Department, went unannounced to Dafa practitioner Ma Xirui's home. Without giving him a reason, Fu forced Mr. Ma to come to the Dubei Township government building. In the afternoon of the same day, Zhou Tonghe of the Political and Judiciary Committee sent Mr. Ma to the Shijiazhuang City brainwashing center. They also tried to extort 6,000 yuan from his family. Because his family members understand the truth of Falun Gong, they refused to cooperate with the unreasonable demands.
Mr. Ma Xirui, 65, is a hardworking and simple small businessman. He treats customers honestly, and delivers the goods immediately after receiving an order, no matter the time of day. He considers others first at all times and people respect him deeply. The residents of his area are all very angry about this arrest without cause.

5. [Luquan City, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhang Jianwen Is
Detained and Sent to a Brainwashing Center
Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhang Jianwen, 36, began to practice Falun Gong in 1998. Since Jiang's regime began to persecute Falun Gong, he was arrested and detained without cause by the village government and the Luquan City Public Security Bureau. He was arrested nine times and is thus unable to work. On February 26, 2004, the Luquan City Public Security Bureau arrested Zhang Jianwen again, confiscated his mobile phone and sent him to the Luquan City Brainwashing Center.

6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Yi County Police Officers Arrest Three Dafa Practitioners
On March 5, 2004, Yi County Public Security Bureau police officers arrested three Dafa Practitioners, including Ms. Li Shuhui, from their homes. At 4 a.m. on March 6, police from the Gaocun Township Local Police Station rushed into Dafa practitioner Zhuo Guibin's home and harassed him. Zhuo had to leave home to avoid further persecution.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Dafa Practitioner Zhang Yide and Family Are Sentenced
Falun Gong practitioners from Shandong Province, Yantai City, Mrs. Zhang Yide, her husband Mr. Liu Peijian and their son Liu Zhen have been arrested and sentenced to 5-year and 7-year sentences, respectively.
Since July 20, 1999, Liu Peijian, Zhang Yide and their son Liu Zhen have been persecuted by the local police officers and their workplace (the Shandong Province Yantai City Maritime Affair Surveillance Bureau). They had to leave their home in order to avoid further persecution. In November 2001, the Yantai City police officers arrested them and confiscated a portable computer, a multi-function machine, Falun Gong materials, VCDs, cash and their supplies. Zhang Yide received a 5-year sentence, and Liu Peijian and Liu Zhen each received a 7-year sentence.
8. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Cui Yaning's Life Is in Danger from Force-Feeding at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Liaoning Province, Jinzhou City Dafa practitioner Ms. Cui Yaning is still being detained at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, although she has been there beyond her term. Recently, the police force-fed her and caused serious injuries to her esophagus and stomach. Mr. Cui can barely eat or drink, her whole body is swollen, and she is in critical condition due to heart disease. She is now under 24-hour supervision.
9. [Dashiqiao City, Liaoning Province] Blind Dafa Practitioner Mr. Li Chuankun Is Abducted
Mr. Li Chuankun from Liaoning Province, Dashiqiao City was a fortune-teller before he began practicing Falun Gong. His is blind, and both his wife and son are also disabled. The family suffered from many hardships. Mr. Li was fortunate to learn Falun Gong in 1998. It gave him a new understanding of life, "...being human isn't the meaning of life--it's to have you return to your original, true self" (Zhuan Falun).
After the persecution started, Mr. Li went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 1999. He was arrested but was released because there was nobody to take care of his wife and son at home. On March 12, 2004, the local police station arrested Mr. Li because someone reported him for explaining the facts about Falun Gong. Mr. Li tried to clarify the truth to the policemen. He refused to answer their questioning and resisted the evil persecution. Mr. Li is still being detained, and his wife and son are now suffering many hardships.
10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Yuan Jinrong is Arrested
Recently another Harbin City, Dongli District, Falun Gong practitioner has been arrested. Yuan Jinrong is now detained at the Fifth Section of the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center.
11. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. Wang Shuyun Is Taken to Kaiping Forced Labor Camp
A month ago, Qinhuangdao City Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Shuyun was detained for 15 days for explaining the truth of Falun Gong. On March 3, after she returned home, the Qinhuangdao City Hedong Police Station staff and workers from the Nanli Neighborhood Administration Office convinced her to that she should go to the local police station. The police arrested her without following due legal procedure. They unlawfully sentenced her to one year at the Tangshan Kaiping Forced Labor Camp.
