Near the end of 2003, the incident of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Fan Xiuqin from Liaocheng City, Shandong Province being sent to a mental hospital was exposed on the Internet. In order to cover their tracks, the perpetrators are slandering Ms. Fan, saying she originally had a mental disorder. The truth is Ms. Fan was totally normal before she was sent to the mental hospital. However, she was given three times the drug doses that that an actual mental patient would receive. This over medicating caused her to become lethargic, have slow response, and act abnormal toward others.
Ms. Fan Xiuqin is in her thirties and a teacher at the Erlianban Elementary School of Dongchangfu District, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province. Because she refused to renounce Falun Dafa, she was locked in a detention center in 2001, and later was sent to the mental hospital in the summer of 2001. She was also sent to a brainwashing class in the winter of 2001.
