Facts of the Persecution
From a practitioner in China: My name is Li Dingzhen (female, 58, and a retiree from Guizhou Province No. 7 Metallurgy Construction Company). I started to practice Falun Dafa in 1993. I had hepatitis B then; it disappeared shortly after I started the practice, and I felt great. When the persecution by Jiang's regime started, I stepped forward to validate Falun Dafa. As a result, I was imprisoned and tortured at the Guiyang City No. 2 Detention Center and the Guizhou Provincial Female Forced Labor Camp. I resisted all the methods of persecution inflicted on me. They beat me and forced me to stand in military fashion for lengthy periods of time. On June 24, 2003, after two years of imprisonment, with righteous thoughts, I walked out of the forced labor camp.
On December 18, 2003 Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Chengshun from Dehui City, Jilin Province was kidnapped and taken to the local public security bureau. The police soaked him with cold water and then shocked him with electric batons. For twenty-four hours, they tied him to a "tiger bench" [Practitioners are forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall with their knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes placed on their knees, they are forced to sit up straight and to look straight ahead. They are not allowed to turn their heads, close their eyes, talk to anyone, or move at all. Several inmates are assigned to monitor the practitioners and force them to remain motionless while sitting on the bench. Usually, some hard objects are inserted underneath the practitioners' lower legs or ankles to make it harder for them to tolerate this abuse (see illustration at: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/11/24/16156.html)]. They even used a board with rubber on both sides to slap his face, until the rubber broke into pieces. They used their hands to twist Mr. Wang's flesh on his thigh and arm, and tied him with cord around his neck and mouth. Mr. Wang passed out several times from the pain. On January 18, 2003 Mr. Wang was sent to the Jiutai City Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp to serve a year and a half sentence.
Yu Jingxia, a practitioner of Falun Gong, was abducted to the Shijiazhuang No. 2 Detention Center on January 19, 2004. She went on a hunger strike and is dying. Hospital staff have said that she has serious heart disease and a kidney problem. However, the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] of Shijiazhuang City and Xinhua subdivision has refused to release her.
Mr. Xuan Guoshun from Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province was kidnapped while distributing truth-clarifying material and was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp. Currently, he is being tortured at the Xinshou Brigade of the Jinzhou Educational Camp. Every day, four inmates take turns hitting him on his chest, back, legs, and ribs with bed boards; he is having great difficulty breathing, and is unable to walk.
Another practitioner, Mr. Shi Baodong, was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. He was later transferred to the Buxin Forced Labor Camp, Fushun Forced Labor Camp, and the Jinxi Forced Labor Camp, where he was subjected to brutal torture. Shi Baodong refused to give up Falun Dafa, and walked out of the Jinxi Forced Labor Camp. In April 2002 Shi Baodong went to Beijing again and was taken into custody at Tiananmen Square; he was then jailed at the Jinzhou Forced Labor Camp.
Practitioner Hu Fengkui was taken into custody in September 2002 when he was traveling to Beijing. He was sent to a forced labor camp for three years. He was not allowed to sleep, and was tortured continuously. Currently, Hu Fengkui needs assistance to walk because of the torture.
In December 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Jianxia from Nanguan Village, Sanmenxia City Development Zone, Henan Province, was abducted to the Sanmenxia Detention Center by local police. In a secret trial, she was sentenced to six years of imprisonment. Ms. Liu went on a hunger strike for 20 days. Detention center staff sent her to a hospital. The authorities were not watching her at the hospital, so her family took her back home.
Liu Jiaxia and her family have endured persecution for several years. She had previously been sentenced to and imprisoned in a labor camp. After more than a year, she was released for medical reasons following a previous hunger strike.
From a practitioner in China: My name is Lv Yuzhen. (a 60-year-old retiree from a blanket factory in Henan Province.) I have been practicing Falun Dafa for seven years and have benefited much from the practice. My second son and daughter are jailed at a municipal detention center. My son was shackled to the stairway handrail for ten days while my daughter was shackled and hung by the window bars. In July 2000 my son went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was jailed for one month. Although I am 60 years old, I have been imprisoned in forced labor camps twice until I was near death. My older son was also sentenced to the Guangdong Province Sanshui Forced Labor Camp for half a year. His residence permit was cancelled.
