Falun Gong asks for the Persecution of Practitioners in China to be Discussed in the EU-China Human Rights Dialogue

(Clearwisdom.net) Bilateral talks on human rights between the European Union and China were recently held in Ireland's capital, Dublin. Human rights organisations asked the Irish government to pay attention to China's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, along with China's Internet censorship and information blockade. Falun Gong practitioners also took further steps in filing a lawsuit against the Chinese officials who persecute Falun Gong.

(Clearwisdom.net, March 7, 2004) Over the past few weeks, Jiang and his followers have intensified the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. As a result, the death toll of Falun Gong practitioners due to the persecution has increased to 901. In response to this situation, on February 22, Falun Dafa practitioners in Latvia held a peaceful appeal outside the Chinese Consulate, urging to bring to justice the chief perpetrator Jiang Zemin and his followers Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang.

(Clearwisdom.net) In late 1999, Falun Dafa practitioner Ma Xinxing from Shanghai was detained in a mental hospital for three months. The police and doctors claimed that practitioners detained in the hospital were suffering from psychosis. They also attempted to have practitioners give up their belief, threatening to turn the practitioners crazy. One of the tactics they used was to force practitioners to take harmful drugs. If practitioners refused to take the drugs, the police and doctors oftentimes resorted to force-feeding.
