Persecution Facts

- Dafa practitioner Chen Wenjie from Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province clarified the truth to people in May 2001 and was detained at the Jiangmen City Detention Center for one-and-a-half years. In late 2002, he was unlawfully sentenced to ten years in prison and is currently being held at Yangjiang Prison in Guangdong Province. Chen Wenjie is handcuffed and shackled every day because he firmly believed in Dafa, and refused to write the "Three Statements." (1)The guards also hung him on a window frame with his hands cuffed. In addition, they forced him to work for more than ten hours daily. His situation is critical.

- Zhang Xiao'ou, a female teacher recounts her persecution experience at a Pi County Brainwashing Class in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province: Zhang Xia, head of the Pi County Police Department pried my mouth open with a knife and prepared to force-feed me. He was afraid I would bite the feeding tube, so he fed me through my nose. He abraded the tube against my throat and esophagus, making me gag. Zhang Xia grabbed a handful of papers and put them over my nose and mouth with such force that I had difficulty breathing. I was illegally held at this Pi County Brainwashing Class for nine months and was released when I was near death.

-Wang Yan, a female Dafa practitioner and a lecturer at Bayi Agricultural Cultivation University was abducted by police on January 2, 2002. She was sent to a prison and beaten, force-fed and tortured. The officials handed her a seven-year prison sentence and sent her to the Harbin Female Prison on March 2, 2003.

-Wei Xiaodong is a Dafa practitioner and a lecturer at the School of Engineering/Bayi Agricultural Cultivation University. Perpetrators from Jixi's "610 Office" arrested him on April 27, 2002 for downloading Dafa truth clarification materials. He was sent to the Jixi Labor Camp.

-Another lecturer Rong Zhi from the Department of Computer Science at the Bayi Agricultural Cultivation University was arrested in October 2002 and is still being held.

- Li Guimei, a Dafa practitioner from Chicheng County, Hebei Province and her family were persecuted by lawless government officials. Li Guimei went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa and was detained for half a month. In late May 2001 she was sent to a brainwashing class. Her mother fell ill from the grief of missing her daughter and passed away three days later. Li Guimei held a five-day hunger strike at the brainwashing class and was eventually released.

-Dafa practitioner Chen Guoxiu from Hubei Province: all my serious illnesses got cured through practicing Falun Dafa. But, in the midst of the persecution of Falun Gong launched by Jiang Zemin, I suffered tribulations repeatedly. I was illegally detained and had money extorted from me numerous times. In the detention center, the guards tortured me to extort confession. They beat and kicked me, verbally abused me, beat my back with bamboo strips, struck my anklebones numerous times, handcuffed my hands on my back, and tightened it once every one minute. They tortured me for a whole day. My feet swelled up for more than 40 days.

-Dafa practitioners from Datonghu District, Nan County, Hunan Province suffered from persecution. In early 2000, two Dafa practitioners from that county went to the home of Dafa practitioner Yan Guoping. Wang Bocheng, the deputy head of the local police department and Jiang Zhengqi and Li Chaojun from the local "610 Office" arrested them. The perpetrators tortured them by hanging them up, forced them to kneel and also beat them for several hours.

Before the 2000 Chinese New Year, Jiang Zhengqi and Li Chaojun ransacked the home of Dafa practitioner Zhang Weiping in Beizhouzi. They took Zhang Weiping's parents life-long savings, all 6,000 Yuan of it. In September 2003, the perpetrators abducted practitioner Liang Jianguo and sent him to a police station, although Liang had just been released from a labor camp.

Perpetrators and their crimes

Kong Fanrong, a Dafa practitioner from Shulan City, Jilin Province was pursued by the local government because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Dafa. He was forced to leave home along with his wife Bian Hongxiang. Police officers Shi Yongliang and Huang Huichen abducted them on January 14, 2003 and took away 3,000 Yuan, their only savings. The perpetrators also took their personal property, which was worth more than 15,000 Yuan. The perpetrators even broke into the landlord's storage room and stole an electric heater. They sent Kong Fanrong and his wife to the Anqing Road Police Station and brutally beat Kong Fanrong. They tortured him on the Tiger Bench ["tiger bench" is a small bench practitioners are forced to sit-squat on, and not move for long periods; it can be extremely painful], kicked his hip, stomped on his toes, yanked his hair, gouged his eyes and hammered toothpicks under his fingernails.

-Instructor Wang Chunhua, police officers Jiang Shizhao and Hu Jianjun from Chaoyang Township Police Station in Harbin City have persecuted Dafa practitioners. During the 2000 Chinese New Year, Jiang Shizhao extorted 500 Yuan from Dafa practitioner Huang Guang's family.

-Police officers Wang Chunhua and Hu Jianjun ransacked the home of Dafa practitioner Ma Shuhua. They took his computer, palm pilot and other belongings. The police claimed that Dafa practitioners were not allowed to own computers. They also beat Ma Shuhua's wife.

-Wang Chunhua and Jiang Shizhao led perpetrators from the Security Division of the Gardening Institute, who searched the home of Dafa practitioner Huang Guang and intimidated his wife and child.

(1) The "Three Statements" are documents the practitioners sign that state they are remorseful for ever having practiced Falun Dafa; they will never go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa and will not associate with other Dafa practitioners, nor practice Dafa in the future.
