1. [Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Aiqun Arrested

Ms. Li Aiqun, 53, used to be an assistant at the Falun Gong practice site in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province. In June 2000, she and several other Falun Dafa practitioners were arrested at the Shaoguan Railroad Station on their way to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was unlawfully sentenced to two years of forced labor. While she was held in the Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp in Guangdong Province, she refused to give up her belief despite inhumane torture and deception. Her term was unlawfully extended by six months, and she managed to leave the labor camp only at the end of December 2002.

On February 19, 2004, two members of the Dongcang Community Residential Committee and two officers from the Nonglin Police Station tried to coerce her into writing the so-called "three statements" [renouncing Falun Gong], which she refused. The next morning, she was again arrested at her home for no reason. Officers at the scene revealed that she would be sent to the brainwashing center in Sanshui, Guangdong Province.

2. [Shandong Province] Officers from the Laigang Yinshan Police Department Ransack Falun Dafa Practitioner's Home

Ms. Li Guimei is a former employee of the Steel Factory No. 2. She has been detained numerous times for practicing Falun Gong, besides having been fined 5,000 Yuan. [The average monthly income of an urban worker is 500 Yuan.] She was forced to stay away from her home due to incessant harassment. Jiao Qiyu, Zhou Ming and other local officials did everything in their power to capture her. For example, Jiao, Zhou and others broke into Ms. Li's home several times and bribed the Junan County Police Department so they too would pressure Li's family. Li's son was forced to locate his mother at his own expense. While trying to locate his mother, he was suspended from work, receiving a stipend of only 300 Yuan a month (the suspended salary was returned to him after he was allowed to come back to work). Li's son suffered great psychological pressure throughout this period.

On the evening of February 23, 2004, officers from the Laigang Yinshan Police Department broke into Li Guimei's home. They arrested Li's husband Wang Lian'ai, who is also a Falun Dafa practitioner. Wang has remained in custody ever since.

3. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Zhang Junhui and Yang Jianpo Arrested

Zhang Junhui is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Jianta Village, Langfang City. Officers from the Guangyang District Police Department unlawfully searched his home on February 18, 2004 while Zhang was not at home. In a related incidence, on February 19, 2004, the officers unlawfully searched Falun Dafa practitioner Yang Jiapo's home in the Tongjianlou Residential Complex. At that time Yang and Zhang Junhui, who happened to be in Yang's home, were both arrested. The police also confiscated a personal computer, a printer, a tape recorder, a Walkman, and 5,000 Yuan in cash, all of which belonged to Yang's daughter.

Yang Jianhui was sentenced to three years of forced labor in October 1999. He managed to escape from the labor camp in June 2002 due to his righteous thoughts. He was arrested again in Tangshan City, Hebei Province during the Chinese Spring Festival season in 2003. One month later, Yang managed to escape from the detention center.

Falun Dafa practitioner Chen Tianjie from Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province was unlawfully sentenced to eleven years in prison. Chen is currently being held in the No. 4 Prison in the Yuhang area in Zhejiang Province.

5. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Four Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested at Gangyaoling Town, Nanpiao District

Around 10:00 p.m. on March 3, 2004, the Gangyaoling Town Police Department in Nanpiao District arrested four Falun Dafa practitioners from Fangyingdi Village for distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. It was reported that the police drove to Fangyingdi Village in the same town and ransacked the home of Zhou Mingheng, one of the four practitioners arrested. It is likely the four practitioners have already been transferred to the Nanpiao District Detention Center or the Huludao City Detention Center.

Around 10:00 a.m. on March 2, 2004, Ms. Yin Guilan, about 55-year-old, was taken into custody by half a dozen police officers led by Chen Xingwu, head of the Shanghewan Town Police Station. The officers tore apart Ms. Yin's clothes and sent her to the Xinglongshan Brainwashing Center in Changchun City, Jilin Province.

Ms. Deng Lingmin, 20, is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. On March 5, 2004, she was arrested at her workplace in Ruibao Village, Haizhu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. Officers from the Baiyun District Branch Police Department in Guangzhou City took her to an unknown location.

8. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Hu Dawei and Two Other Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested and Brutally Beaten

On February 25, Haicheng City Falun Dafa practitioner Hu Dawei was forcibly arrested in front of his apartment building. Two other male practitioners were arrested at the same time; one is from Anshan City, Liaoning Province and the other from Heilongjiang Province. Over a dozen officers led by Wang Mingzhang (phonetic translation), chief of the Tianshui Police Station, and Li Haihua, head of the political and economic security section, carried out the abduction. Hu's home was also ransacked. The officers took away a motorcycle, a printer, a scanner, a cellular phone, pagers, and other valuables. According to the arrested practitioners, all three of them were brutally beaten. The practitioner from Anshan City was struck most severely. Even the officers had a lot blood on their uniforms from the injured practitioners.

9. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhang Baozhi Arrested

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Baozhi, 52, is a retired employee of the Nanyang Lock Factory. She lives on Gongnong Road in Nanyang City. On March 4, 2004, the Nanyang police arrested her at her home. At the same time, her home was ransacked and the officers took away her personal computer, printer, as well as other equipment, and some Falun Gong printed material.

10. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Hongwei Arrested

Ms. Wang Hongwei, about 40-years-old, is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province. She was recently arrested while taking a picture of a Falun Gong banner hung on a tall chimney near the Wuchang City "610 Office."

11. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Police Arrest Ms. Song Chunmei and Take Possession of All Her Valuables

At the end of February the 110 Crime Response police in Weifang City (emergency number 86-536-110) broke into Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Song Chunmei's home. In addition to taking her into custody, the officers also confiscated all the valuables in her home.

12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Ms. Zhang Weidi and Ms. Zhao Liping Arrested by Officers of the Gongshang Police Station in Dongling District

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Weidi, 52, is from Shenhe District. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhao Liping, 36, from Heping District, is an engineer of the Huarun Xuehua Beer Company. On February 23, 2004, they went to the Nanta Electronic Market to distribute Falun Gong truth-clarifying CD's and were arrested by police officers Liu Weiguo and Jin Yinde of the Gongshan Police Station in Dongling District.

13. [Tengzhou City, Shandong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Zhao Hongxia and Her Sister-In-Law Detained

Zhao Hongxia and her sister-in-law are Falun Dafa practitioners in Tengzhou City, Shandong Province. Two days before the Chinese lunar New Year's Day in early 2003, they were turned in to the police while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in the Xigang mining area. Wang Qi, director of the Tengzhou City "610 Office" threw them into prison. Wang ordered guards to handcuff and shackle Ms. Zhao around the clock, even when she was having meals or using the bathroom for which she required help. She was not allowed to wash her face or comb her hair for twenty-nine consecutive days, let alone change her clothes. When officials from the Tengzhou Cigarette Factory were ordered by the "610 Office" to subject Zhao to brainwashing, they were shocked to see how she was treated. They knew that only criminals convicted of homicide were shackled all the time, and were disgusted by the brutality of the "610 Office." The officials brought towels to help Ms. Zhao wash her face and found a comb for her hair.

14. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Shuangcheng City Police Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners and Beat Their Family Members

After 6:00 p.m. on February 28, 2004, officers of the Chaoyang Township Police Station and members of the Shengde Village Committee in Shuangcheng City went to the homes of Falun Dafa practitioners Zhang Hongru and Pan Mingzhen. Zhang was reading a Falun Dafa book and was taken into custody on the spot. The book was also confiscated. When they arrived at Pan's home, they rudely demanded to find out if Pan was still practicing Falun Gong. Pan gave them a firm positive answer and started to tell the truth about the persecution. The officials were angered, and shouted, "Take him away!" Over a dozen of the thugs pushed and dragged Pan into a car and ransacked the place. Wei Zhixue also struck Pan's wife on the chin when she pleaded with them not to take her husband away. Blood gushed from her mouth right away and Pan was taken into custody.

15. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ye Ximing and Xiao Zhijun in Dawa County, Panjin City Arrested

Falun Dafa practitioners Ye Ximing and Xiao Zhijun from Xi'an Town in Dawa County, Panjin City are being held in the Dawa County Detention Center. Mr. Ye has been on a nineteen-day hunger strike in protest of this unlawful treatment. He is in critical condition due to brutal force-feeding methods. Despite his suffering, he still tells those around him the truth about Falun Gong. Xiao Zhijun has also not given in to the brutal pressure methods.

Ms. Shao Xiayun is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Zhumadian City in Henan Province. On January 8, 2004, she was unlawfully sentenced to four years of forced labor and sent to the Xinxiang Women's Forced Labor Camp.

18. [Hebei Province] Mr. Meng Qingtan and Other Falun Dafa Practitioners of Zaoqiang County, Hengshui Area, Arrested

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Meng Qingtan is director of the Statistics Bureau of the Zaoqiang County government. At the end of February 2004, officers from the Hengshui City "610 Office" arrested him at work. The police also searched his and his mother's homes, but did not find anything. Despite the lack of evidence, Mr. Meng was forcibly taken into custody.

Around the Chinese lunar New Year's Day a year ago, the police attempted to place Meng under arrest but failed. Two other women Falun Dafa practitioners nicknamed Little Xiang and Little Hua (both in their forties) were arrested by the Zaoqiang County Police Department while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials because informants called in the police.

19. [Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Liu Dexi and Wife, Luo Shujuan, Arrested in Dalian City, Liaoning Province

Falun Dafa practitioners Liu Dexi and his wife, Luo Shujuan, are from Pengjie Town in Jiaojiang District, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province. They were forced to leave their hometown and flee to Dalian City, Liaoning Province. Out of compassion toward people in their hometown, they sent them letters clarifying the truth about Falun Gong.

Between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. of March 2, 2004, Dalian police, accompanied by officers from Jiaojiang in Taizhou City, pretending to examine their temporary residential papers deceived the two practitioners into opening the door. While Mr. Liu was interacting with the officers, Luo gathered all the Falun Dafa materials into four bags. In order to avoid arrest, she slung the four bags on her back and jumped from a third floor window. She passed out and her right shoulder and pelvis were fractured. She is being treated at the Dalian Railroad Hospital. The police are keeping her under close surveillance. Liu was taken to an unknown place. Meanwhile, their 8-year-old daughter is left at home unsupervised.

20. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Bao Jianguo and Wife Arrested in Fuyu County

On the morning of February 29, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners Bao Jianguo and his wife Fan Xiangjie in Fuyu County were taken away from their home by officers from the Tiedong Police Station in Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province. Bao Jianguo was to be detained for fifteen days. Police demanded that Bao's elder sister write a statement of guarantee [renouncing Falun Gong] on his behalf. Since March 1, nobody has had any news about Fan's whereabouts.

Jin Ming, principal of the Magukuang Elementary School in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, has sent Falun Dafa practitioner Zhao Wei, an employee of the school, to a brainwashing center.
