Facts of the Persecution
1. Exposing the Persecution to a Meeting of a Hundred People--Ren Baokun Arrested
On October 29, 2004, the Zhuozhou City government of Hebei Province held a meeting to encourage everyone to "get involved in the spirit of the16th Congress. A woman from the Party School was giving a speech slandering Falun Dafa and Master Li. Practitioner Mr. Ren Baokun, who is the Diaowo Township National Guard coordinator, stood up and proclaimed the truth to those listening to the propaganda. His words silenced the meeting for twenty minutes, until the Diaowo Township Party Secretary pushed Mr. Ren out of the room. At the same time, more than one hundred people in the meeting applauded to support Mr. Ren. Later the Diaowo Township Party Secretary sent Ren Baokun to the detention center. The leader of the "610 Office" and police ransacked his home. We call on all practitioners to strengthen their righteous thoughts and assist in the rescue of Ren Baokun, and obtain his release as soon as possible. Other persons directly responsible for persecuting Ren Baokun are Yang Yugang from the police station, 86-312-3853255, and Diaowo Township Vice Party Secretary Wang Chao, 86-1383-2278081 (cell).
2. Practitioner Ms. Yang Wanxian from Shilin County, Yunnan Province, Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Ms. Yang Wanxian is a forty-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Shilin County, Yunnan Province. The county "610 Office" police and the county Agricultural Vocational School closely monitored her after her release from a labor camp in August 2003. On September 1, when Ms. Yang shouted, "Falun Dafa is Good" at the Agricultural Vocational School assembly, the State Security police arrested her and sentenced her to three years in prison. She is now in the Yunnan Provincial Second Prison. Because she was firm in her cultivation, police and prisoners beat her repeatedly. She was injected with brain damaging drugs and is now incoherent and very slow to respond. Her brother, sister and brother-in-law all died under unusual circumstances since she has been in the labor camp. Her husband, under great pressure from the local officials, divorced her. Now her mother, who is in her seventies, lives at home alone.
3. Practitioner Mr. Tang Zhanchen from the Oil & Gas Shipping Company of the Shengli Oil Field Arrested
On the morning of November 11, 2004, personnel from Shengli Oil Field "610 Office," the Binhai Police Station, and the Security Guards of the Oil & Gas Shipping Company suddenly stormed in on practitioner Mr. Tang Zhanchen's home, arrested him, and took him to the Oil Field Pumping Company Hotel. They then sent him to a brainwashing session held in the Material Supply Office. There were seven practitioners already detained there. Another practitioner, who works at the same company with Mr. Tang, was arrested several days earlier and is detained in another brainwashing session held in the Oil & Gas Shipping Company. The arrest of Mr. Tang is another of many recent arrests at the Shengli Oil Field. The Field Administration and "610 Office" are the responsible parties. They held long-term brainwashing sessions and made many practitioners pay fees for their own persecution. Some practitioners were forcibly injected with unknown drugs, sent to mental hospitals, and force-fed. Others were sentenced and transferred to a labor camp directly from the brainwashing sessions. We warn these lawless officials to stop doing any more harm and persecuting innocent people!
4. Practitioner Zhang Yanping Is Being Tortured
Ms. Zhang Yanping, a Falun Dafa practitioner born in 1965, is an employee of the Retired Officials Bureau in Saertu District, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. She went to Beijing with her husband to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa on June 1, 2001, and was arrested and held at the Xihongmen Police Substation in the Daxing District of Beijing. Director Li Changyou interrogated her for three hours and used an electric baton to shock her eyelids, mouth, and other parts of her body. She was sent to the Saertu District Detention Center in Daqing City. In order to protest their extended detention, she went on hunger strike for more than twenty days. She was force-fed everyday by six or seven people who physically restrained her. Her weight went from 143 to 88 pounds, and she was released unconditionally. During her detention, police ransacked their home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and a computer worth 15,000 yuan. Her family was fined 12,000 yuan, as a "traveling to Beijing" fee. After she was released, her employer would not assign her work for almost six months, because they feared retribution from the local authorities. The Saertu District Government punished her by reducing her pay to 200 yuan per month for basic living expenses for half a year. If she continued voicing her support for Falun Gong, she would be terminated from her employment.
