(Clearwisdom.net) In January 2001, in order to intensify the persecution of Falun Gong, the state controlled media propagated falsehood concerning the "Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation" incident. The self-immolation incident was staged by Jiang Zemin and his followers on January 23rd, 2001. His group used the staged incident and the following propaganda wave to incite hatred against Falun Gong and start another round of brutal persecution. In many places in China, persecutors forced many practitioners to attend the brainwashing classes where they illegally detained practitioners and tortured them mentally. The brainwashing sessions use a notorious "textbook" which is filled with words that slander Falun Dafa and instigate hatred towards practitioners. This so called "textbook" also exposes a lot of evidence of the crimes the Jiang group has committed. We have compiled this evidence so that the "World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong" and other international organizations which uphold justice can investigate the crimes of the media and the other people involved.

4. Other facts about the persecution:

By January 22nd, 2001, Jiang's regime had illegally destroyed more than 1000 truth-clarifying material production sites (committing over 3,000 crimes in the process), confiscating more than 260 types of truth-clarifying materials (more than 3.3 million copies), and over 2,000 pieces of equipment such as computers, printers, and copiers.

On December 25th, 2000, the Beijing Supreme Court sentenced 4 Falun Gong practitioners to jail terms because they printed and distributed more than 700,000 pages of truth-clarifying material and over 200 truth-clarifying CDs. The court sentenced practitioner Pang You to 8 years in prison; Mu Chunyan to 7 years; Chen Suping to 7 years; and Zhang Lixin to 3 years.

On January 9th, 2001, three district courts in Beijing (Fengtai, Haidian, and Jingshan District Court) sentenced 3 practitioners to prison for printing and distributing truth-clarifying materials: Li Jinpeng was sentenced to 6 years in prison; He Yuansheng: 4 years; and Shi Xiufen: 3 years.

Wang Ming, the vice director of the Beijing Supreme Court, spoke out on the illegal use of laws which are against the Constitution for the purpose of persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners.
