(Clearwisdom.net) I am a person with a formerly introverted personality. I was not good at talking and seldom made friends. In order to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa, I had to overcome this weakness. I started to clarify the truth from the wisdom obtained from studying Falun Dafa.

For example, when coming across elderly people, I would first respectfully address them as befitting elders. Then I would inquire after their health and share with them how I improved my health by practicing Falun Gong. In such a way, it is easy to connect with them and they often become happy to hear the truth about Falun Gong.

If coming across middle-aged persons I would begin with discussing how to educate children and how to get along with the young and the old, to first elicit their righteous thoughts. Then I would talk about the benefits of cultivating according to Falun Dafa's principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."

If coming across young people I would begin my talk from the relationships of prophesies and historical aspects as they relate to today's China, individual's habits and the country's prosperity and decline to that of the Cultural Revolution and suppression of college students on June 4, 1989, [Tiananmen Square Massacre] and finally to the severity of persecution of Falun Gong.

When I clarify the truth to people, there are some who quickly accept my words; there are some who won't accept them; and there are also some who gradually understand the truth about Falun Dafa. However, we should not be swayed by anyone's attitude. In the course of my efforts to clarify the truth, I felt deeply that living beings in China have had their minds severely poisoned. Because what TV, newspapers and media spread are all lies, which describe Falun Dafa practitioners as something without any virtue and as being terrible, as long as we mention Falun Gong, quite a lot of people who appear very kind suddenly turn hostile, even displaying animosity and mockery. At such a time I further experienced the importance of our duty. When faced with such a circumstance, it further requires of practitioners to keep clear minds and act according to Dafa.

I run a small restaurant. There was once a young man in his twenties who appeared unhappy as he drank alcohol in my restaurant. I caringly approached him and asked if he had something on his mind and if he would like to talk about it so that I may share a little of his worries. He looked at me carefully. Perhaps he found me sincere, so we started to talk. I first made him realize that no matter what happened we should not be attached to it. Even if it is a person who mistreated us, we should not hate the person but peacefully face him. We should take goodness as the most important thing and take being a good person and valuing "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" as the fundamental thing.

He was happy to hear this advice. Later, when I talked about Falun Gong, he immediately became angry and threatened to call the police. I was quite calm and said gently, yet full of strength, "In such a situation, I'm sure you can do what you said. However, have you ever thought about it? Isn't everything I told you just now completely good for you? Was there anything bad for you? Falun Gong practitioners strive to become better people and to value "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." You don't even agree to this and instead you want to call the police. I would like to ask you if you are a good person? Can you bear to watch me be arrested? Won't your conscience be condemned?" These words made him speechless. I then told him all the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. He finally understood the truth and gave me many thanks. When he left he said, "Later on, I will come to your restaurant to have meals, drink a couple more beers and chat with you."

I realized that the course of clarifying truth is also a process of giving up attachments (especially feelings of fear) and a process of improvement. I should learn what people's common misconceptions are and what aspects I should pay attention to, so that I can do better.
