Facts of the Persecution

On September 8, 2004, practitioner Chen Haidong in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, talked openly about the facts of Falun Gong in his classroom and was reported. He was abducted on the afternoon of September 9 and began a hunger strike immediately to protest, not cooperating with the evil on any of their demands. Presently he is being illegally detained in the Mianyang City Jail.

Practitioner Mr. Dou Jianjun, 27, lived in Langfang City in Hebei Province and was illegally detained in Kaiping Labor Camp in Tangshan City. Because he refused to cooperate with the evil's so called "conversion," he was deprived of sleep and underwent other cruel tortures. He has been on a hunger strike, abstaining from food and water for over a month. His life is now in danger.

On July 24, 2004, at 2 a.m. in the morning, the chief of the Mutoudeng Town Police Station, in Qinglong County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, as well as Mutoudeng Town Political Director Zhang Hua and a dozen others swarmed into practitioner Shi Wenge's house and abducted him. He is now being held in Qinglong County Jail. People there took turns tormenting him, not letting him sleep for long periods of time. Since the summer vacation began, these policemen have gone everywhere to arrest practitioners. This time the reason given for arresting practitioners is that they have exposed the authorities' atrocities against Falun Dafa on the Internet.

Practitioner Ms. Cao Fang of Jinchang City, Gansu Province, was interrogated and tortured while she was being illegally detained between October 31 and December 24, 2003, in Jinchang City Jail. As a result, she became mentally disoriented and her weight dropped from 120 to 90 pounds. Ms. Cao was held in the Gansu Women's Labor Camp between February 24 and May 14 of 2004. They forced her to stand overnight, causing her hands and feet to swell. The very next day they forced her to do hard labor as usual. What was worse was their forcing her to write things against her conscience, causing her great emotional and mental suffering in addition to physical pain.

Pu Shi, a member of the technical staff in the research division at the Well Testing Company of Heshi Oil Exploring Bureau, was healed of health problems after he started to practice Falun Dafa. After July 20, 1999, Pu Shi followed the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance" and tried to be a good person. Because of this the authorities withheld his salary, ransacked his home, abducted him, blackmailed, and threatened him. On August 30, 2004, Pu Shi was abducted again and was sent to a brainwashing class.

In the early morning of September 13, 2004, practitioner Fan Jinling of Liaohe Oilfield was abducted as she was distributing Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials at the Environmental Protection Garden and was sent to jail in Panjin City that afternoon by policeman Liu Jingyu of the Domestic Security Division of Xinglongtai Police Station. They repeatedly interrogated and threatened her in order to find out where she had obtained her truth clarification materials. At noon on the same day, they illegally ransacked Ms Fan's home.

Practitioner Chen Baocai of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, was arrested and sent to a labor camp twice and was forced to take part in a brainwashing class three times because he would not give up his belief in Falun Dafa. He underwent all sorts of tortures as well as severe beatings and was left with some permanent physical damage. Some of Mr. Chen's relatives were also harmed because of their association with him. His children were forced out of their schools, and his family was financially devastated. On August 19, 2004, Chen Baocai was again abducted and taken to the brainwashing class for further persecution.
