In October 2004, several dozen famous 19th and 20th century Chinese paintings were exhibited free of charge, including Qi Baishi's unrivalled works, "Single Horse" by Xu Beihong, well-known painter Zhang Daqian's works, Daoguang Emperor's calligraphies, and Empress Dowager Cixi's paintings. The exhibition was held in the Waldorf Astoria and was open to the public from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm from October 21 to 24.

Numerous guests attended the opening ceremony, and a constant flow of people came to visit the four-day exhibition. On the first day, some people were already waiting before the exhibition began.

After viewing the exhibition, a mother and daughter who came from Mainland China to visit New York had the following conversation. The daughter said to her mother, "Mom, please also practice Falun Gong!"
