Facts of persecution

1) My name is Ms. Tang Qiong. I am a 62 year-old retired worker from the Liangshanzhou Food Factory, Sichuan Province. I started practicing Falun Dafa in May 1997. Before that time I had liver tumors and osteo-hyperplasia in my right foot. Within a few months after I started Falun Gong practice, both illnesses disappeared. After July 20, 1999, when the persecution began, factory head Xie Jiajun and the head and deputy head of the Commerce Bureau came to my home to intimidate me, trying to get me give up practicing Falun Gong. They attempted to force me to read a book that slanders Falun Dafa. I did not read it and instead burned it. On February 19, 2001 the factory head and the head of the security section, Guo Guosheng, forced me to go to the West District Police Station in Xichang City. From there, they sent me to a brainwashing class at the Mapingba Drug Clinic. While we were there, we practitioners practiced the Falun Gong exercises in the evening, for which the National Security Division head Li Yuxu forced us to stand on a dike as punishment. We were forced to listen to information that slanders Falun Dafa for long periods of time, and suffered other cruel mental torment. In addition, we each were forced to pay 210 Yuan (1) per month. We were not released until June 2001.

2) The "610 Office" in Wulumuqi City and the Autonomous Public Security Department, headed by Meng Gang and Zhang Yong, brutally torture Falun Gong practitioners. They subject them to hanging by handcuffs for long periods of time as well as verbal abuse. Women practitioners are stripped naked while two policemen tie strings to their nipples and pull the strings hard in opposite directions. The women's agonizing screams could be heard over and over.

3) Ms. Fang Li, a Falun Gong practitioner from the Xinjiang Pharmaceutical Factory could not endure the torture and humiliation any longer, and jumped off the building from a window on the third floor, causing multiple fractures of her back and legs.

4) Practitioner Ms. Li Xianghong, a lecturer at the Xinjiang Industry Institute, was sent to prison after having suffered repeated tortures. Practitioner Ms. Li Jiaoling, a head doctor at the Wulumuqi Chinese Medicine Hospital, was interrogated many times outside of the detention center, in the "610 Office" interrogation room. She was left with injuries all over her body and a constant high fever. Li Jiaoling held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She suffered force-feeding and was later taken to a forced labor camp.

5) Practitioner Ms. Sun Chunfang from Zaohu Village, Tianma Town, Shouguang City, in Shandong Province was arrested on New Year's Eve 2000 for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. On January 2 she was taken into the courtyard of the Township Government. Persecutors led by Li Huafeng, Party Secretary of the Township Government, tore off her shoes, socks and pants. Then a young man picked up a wooden pole, about two meters long and two inches in diameter, and began hitting her legs hard while others proceeded to pull her ears, stomp on her frozen feet with their heavy leather boots, and kick and beat her with their leather-soled shoes. They left only after they were exhausted from beating her. Later they returned and took turns attacking her again. In the afternoon, Zhang Zixue, who claimed to be head of the Judicial Department, took off Sun Chunfang's underwear by force. When Sun Chunfang resisted, he lashed her head and her private parts with a leather belt. In the summer of 2000, Sun Chunfang was again forced away from her home to watch a video tape slandering Falun Gong. When she refused, she was severely beaten. The persecutors pulled her hair and forced her to lie on her stomach on the concrete floor and spit into her mouth. They tortured her for the entire afternoon. In the evening, township government employees Sun Famin and others brutally beat her again. Sun Famin hit her head, face and temples hard with a fist until she passed out. The blood veins in her eyes burst and her eyeballs bulged out. Her mouth drooped to one side and she could not eat anything. The shape of her entire face became severely distorted.

6) On September 14 persecutors in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province ransacked homes of Falun Dafa practitioners Su Huiming and Yang Jiedong. Mr. Su Huiming was abducted and his whereabouts are currently unknown. He had previously been abducted to a brainwashing class in Zhuhai City. Yang Jiedong had previously been unlawfully sentenced to forced labor in the Sanshui Labor Camp in Guangdong Province.

7) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Han Zhimin from Zhuhai City was abducted in mid-August 2004 and taken to the Sanshui Brainwashing Class in Guangdong Province, where her little finger was injured. In the beginning of 2002, she was taken to Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp in Guangdong Province to serve a one year term. She suffered various forms of inhuman torture, including being locked up in the "dark room," squatting for long periods of time, sleep deprivation, being forbidden to talk or use the toilet, being force fed with urine, and other gross abominations.

8) At around 1:00 a.m. on September 21, 2004 perpetrators smashed the iron door of Falun Dafa practitioners Gu Quanhong and Wen Shanglian' s home, ransacked their home, and abducted the couple. In the afternoon of the same day, Falun Dafa practitioners Zhang Wenxue and Hu Yong were also abducted outside Gu Quanhong's shop. Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Min was abducted at around 6:00 a.m. that same day.

9) My name is Zhao Yuqin. I am a 63 year-old retired worker from a steel factory. In December 1999 I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor in the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. My term was later extended by two months. During my detention in the labor camp I was subjected to coercive brainwashing and suffered all kinds of fiendish torture, such as sleep deprivation for long periods of time, beatings (even with a mop handle), verbal abuse, shocking by electric batons on my hands and face, standing still for long periods of time, squatting, being tied up, being exposed to freezing temperatures in the winter and standing under scorching sun in the summer, force-feeding with saline solution, and other outrageous treatments. Zu Jincai from the Tongjiang Police Station in the Changyi District, Jilin City cancelled my daughter Liu Bing's residence card in August 2002. She was also illegally sentenced to forced labor for her practice of Falun Gong. In November 2002, my sister was also abducted when she came to visit me, without any due legal process, simply because she practices Falun Gong.
