[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Forced Labor Sentences for Dafa Practitioners Liu Jingzhou, Zhang Zhifang and Yao Fengjie

1. On May 20, 2003, a policeman arrested Dafa practitioner Liu Jingzhou from Daoli District, Harbin City, while he was clarifying the truth to people. Within one month he was sentenced to three years of forced labor. No legal procedure followed during the whole process. This type of sentencing was clearly unconstitutional.

2. During the morning of May 31, 2002, Dafa practitioner Zhang Zhifang from Harbin City clarified the truth to people in the Toulong Commercial Building. She was later arrested, taken to the Zhaolin Police Station and unlawfully sentenced to two years of forced labor. She is presently being held at the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp.

3. In June 2002, Dafa practitioner Yao Fengjie from Daowai District, Harbin City was arrested at home. She is now detained at the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. Her 80-year-old mother is left at home without care.

[Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Dafa Practitioners Tang Qinghua and Fu Weijia are Detained

Dafa practitioners Tang Qinghua and Fu Weijia were arrested and taken to the No.1 Detention Center on November 25, 2003. After being incarcerated for over a month, their families bailed them out, but had about 3,000 Yuan extorted from each of them by the authorities. They will be tried in 2004.

[Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Brutality Against Dafa Practitioners in the Chuanxi Women's Prison

Guards in the Chuanxi Women's Prison located in Hong'an Town, Longjiayi District, Chengdu City attempt to force Dafa practitioners to give up their belief. Those who refuse do not receive food and were starved as punishment. Dafa practitioners who did not renounce their belief became emaciated from the persecution.

They often slap Dafa practitioners in the face, kick and punch them, shock them with electric batons, deprive them of sleep, sometimes up to nine days, incite criminals to torture them, force them to write the "repentance statement,"* force-feed practitioners who are on a hunger strike, show TV programs throughout the day that slander Dafa, make practitioners get up at 5:00 a.m., give them only 5 minutes to use the toilet and wash themselves and 10 minutes to eat, force them to work till 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Practitioners only get two or three hours' sleep when the workload is heavy. When higher authorities come to inspect, practitioners are not allowed to tell them the truth of what is really going on and had to lie that they work and rest at scheduled times. Some practitioners held a strike to protest this behavior. They were then not allowed to change clothes, take a shower or meet with their family members during visiting days.

*"Repentance Statement" says that the practitioner is sorry to ever have practiced Dafa, will never practice again and will not go to Beijing to appeal.

[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Over a Hundred Dafa Banners Hung in Mengjia Village

Not long ago, practitioners from Mengjia Village/Changchun City/Jilin Province hung more than a hundred Dafa truth-clarifying banners along the streets and distributed many truth-clarifying materials. The evildoers were shocked. The Mengjiatun Street Residential Committee put out a reward of 1,000 Yuan for any person who discovers the identity of the practitioner who did this. They plan to send the practitioner who was responsible directly to a forced labor camp.

[Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Arrest of Practitioners

During the morning of October 17, 2003, Jia Hongfu, instructor of the Political and Security Section for Qian'an County's Police Department in Songyuan City, together with Li Yanbo, the criminal team leader from the police department and five or six other policemen broke into the house of Mr. Yu Zhanjiang. Mr. Yu is a disabled person. The enforcers ransacked his home and took away Zhuan Falun and a Falun Dafa audio exercise tape. The police arrested Yu's wife, practitioner Ms. Yin Guifang and his sister-in-law, practitioner Ms. Huang Shulan. The practitioners were sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor.

[Xianning City, Hubei Province] Eight Practitioners Sentenced to Forced Labor

Before January 1, 2004, enforcers from Xianning City's "610 Office"* sent eight practitioners to the Shayang Forced Labor Camp. The following are the names of the eight practitioners and the length of their sentences:

Zhang Pingying (2 years), Wei Yuxian (1 year), Wang Lixin (3 years), Lei Ping (one and a half years), Wu Zhonglun (6 month), Yang Xiangxian (1 year), Feng Xiaomi (2 years), Feng Xiaoying (2 years). Additionally, Ni Lihua was sentenced to 2 years and 3 months of imprisonment. Afterward, because of his/her poor health the camp later refused to accept Ni and released him.

*610 Office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

[Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Chen Guiying is Arrested for the Third Time

Ms. Chen Guiying, 71 years old, is living in Xiaonan Street/Dayi County/Chengdu City/Sichuan Province. On December 22, 2003, a group of police officers broke into her home and ransacked it without producing any legal warrant. Then the police arrested her for the third time and detained her at Dayi County's Detention Center.

[Hubei Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Tian Ye For Buying a Large Quantity of Stamps to Mail Truth-Clarifying Materials

Dafa practitioner Tian Ye, a clerk from Hubei Province's Measurement Bureau, bought a large number of stamps for sending out truth-clarifying materials. Someone notified the police who then tracked him for a long time. Now he has been arrested and his whereabouts are unknown.

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Four Years Unlawful Prison Sentence for Dafa Practitioners He Yulan and Zhou Jianwu

Dafa practitioner Ms. He Yulan from Wuhan City, Hubei Province was sentenced to four years of imprisonment. Her detention address: Weavers Team, P.O. Box 30001, No. 81 Baofeng Road, Wuhan City. Post code: 450030

Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhou Jianwu was illegally sentenced to four years of imprisonment. He is detained at Division No 4 in the Qinduankou Prison, Hanyang District, Wuhan City. Post code: 430051.

[Heilongjiang Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Wang Sumian

Ms. Wang Sumian from Shahezi Town, Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province, was distributing truth-clarifying materials during the night on January 2, 2004. Someone from the town government reported her to the police who captured and afterwards put her into the town's detention center. On January 3, policemen transferred her to Fangzheng County's Detention Center.

[Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Enforcers from Yunhe District's Police Department and from the Court Torment Zhao Lanjun and Zhao Congli Again and Treat Them Unconstitutionally

On December 29, 2003, lawless policemen from Yunhe District's Police Department in Cangzhou City/Hebei Province duped Dafa practitioner Zhao Lanjun and abducted her. On December 31, the Yunhe District court held the first sham trial of Zhao Lianjun. Now she is being detained at Cangzhou City's No.2 Detention Center. As of January 7, 2004, she has been on a hunger strike for ten days. Policemen didn't allow her family to see her, so her recent situation is not known.

At 10:00 a.m. on December 29, 2003, perpetrators from the National Security Team from Yunhe District's Police Department took Dafa practitioner Zhao Congli to the police department against the practitioner's will. On the afternoon of the same day, they secretly sent Zhao Congli to Kaiping District's No.1 Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City/ Hebei Province for one year of forced labor. His family didn't know this till several days later.
