An old woman who relies on selling shoe-pads for a living sadly shared her recent experience: "When I went to pick up my allotted 50 Yuan, (that actually should be over 200 Yuan, but only 50 Yuan were left after the standard embezzlement) monthly "Minimum Subsistence Funds" at the Street Office, they ordered me to tear off Falun Dafa truth stickers. I said I could not read a word, so how could I do that? They said: 'If you do not agree, even these 50 Yuan will not be given to you, we'll use this money to hire people to do that.'"(Note: Yuan, Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan)
Three months ago two Dafa practitioners from Gaoleng of Fangzhen County were arrested when delivering Dafa truth-clarifying materials and detained at the Gaoleng Detention Center. The Gaoleng Court decided to hold a secret trial on September 18, 2003 at 8:30 a.m.
Police officers in the Jilin City Jail are fearful since their persecution of Dafa practitioner Wang Juncheng was exposed to the outside. They are hard on the trail of those who revealed the information so they can take revenge on them.
4. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Latest Situation of Dafa Practitioner Guo Yanqiu
Ms. Guo Yanqiu is a nurse at the Lanpiao Mine and she is from the Banjita Township of Linghai City. She was illegally arrested and detained at the City Detention Center. Around the end of August the Wujintang Reservoir Police Station of Lanpiao District sent Guo to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. After 5 or 6 days, Guo was released because she became ill in the Camp due to the persecution.

Now she is being treated at the Longnan Hospital, Daqing City. Her mother was terribly frightened and is being treated at the same hospital. 1) Dafa practitioner Ms. Xu Hongmei was tortured. She was forced to sit, beginning early August 2002, for 15 days on a steel chair. Now she can't walk as both her legs are paralyzed. Recently, on visiting day, her mother went to see her. The police guard said that she had eaten some objects and was thus undergoing surgery. Therefore, no visitors were allowed. The guard also said that if her family would pay 5000 Yuan, Xu could be bailed out for medical treatment.
2) Determined Dafa practitioners are not released even though their terms are over, and are transferred to the Detention Center for further persecution.
3) In August 2003, Dafa practitioner Dong Liping from Qiqihar did not cooperate with police guards in the Harbin Women's Jail. She refused to take part in the work that was illegally imposed on Dafa practitioners. Instead she was hit on the head with electric batons by police officers, which made her fall unconscious.
7. [Liaoning Province] Retiree Lu Hongfeng and His Wife Fan Shuqing are Illegally Arrested
Mr. Lu Hongfeng is 66 years old, a retiree from the Lingyuanwu Jail. He is not a Falun Gong practitioner yet. His wife Fan Shuqing is 65 years old and is a Dafa practitioner. Both were arrested by the Linghe Public Security Bureau Branch when clarifying the truth about Dafa to people. They have been detained at the Linghe Branch Detention Center for over one month. Fan is now on hunger strike and is receiving emergency treatment at the Branch Hospital. Her husband Lu is taking care of her.
Ever since July 20, 1999, Liu Qingchen has been actively taking part in damaging Dafa and arresting Dafa practitioners. During the past four years, over 50 Dafa practitioners have been arrested and a sum of over 100,000 Yuan was extorted in his area. 9 Dafa practitioners were sent to forced labor camps.

9. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Chen Guanghui is Arrested Again
Mr. Chen Guanghui from Goumenzi Township has been arrested and detained at Forced Labor Camps many times. The Township Police Station arrested him again on September 9, 2003.

On September 4, 2003, Ms. Yang Chenmei, a Dafa practitioner from Taian City, was reported to police in Qingdao City and was thus arrested illegally. Now she is detained at the Taian City Detention Center.

Mr. Yi Wencai is 70 years old. He was arrested in the afternoon of August 18, 2003, at the Dadonghai District, while delivering Dafa truth flyers. At 11 pm the same day, his home was searched. Now he is detained at a detention center.

12. [Huining County, Gansu Province] A News Brief
In March 2003, Dafa banners appeared almost everywhere, including in the Courtyard of the Huining Public Security Bureau. Later police searched hotels extensively.
In April 2003, police officer Wang Yancai went to the Yuanbian Village of Baiyuan Township, searched Dafa practitioner Liu Haixue's home, and confiscated Liu's only funds, 300 Yuan.
On May 29, 2003, a lot of Dafa banners and materials appeared along the road between Huining and Tumu. It shocked and suppressed the evil.
On June 30, 2003, Wang Yancai and two other police officers (two males and one female) drove a police car to the Danan Village, Sifang Township and searched Dafa practitioner Chen Zhongxian's home. Chen's 80-year-old mother was at home alone. The policewoman searched his kitchen while the male police searched the larger rooms. All the locks on suitcases and cabinets were broken. Police took the opportunity to steal 200 ancient coins Chen's elderly mother had collected, and also took away several Dafa videos. They forced the older lady to tell who delivered those tapes to their house.
