[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioners Suffer Another Round of Persecution Around July 20th
Around July 20th, authorities in Shenyang City carried out another large-scale round of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. Their means included harassing "registered" practitioners at their homes and collecting practitioners' handwriting samples with all kinds of excuses.
[Beijing] Dafa Practitioners' Proposal
Since April, some Dafa practitioners in Beijing have been joining a group Fa-rectification activity of sending righteous thoughts each night to eliminate the evil factors in the Beijing area. Recently, at least two practitioners from Beijing have been tortured to death. Thus, we ask all Dafa practitioners in Beijing to please circulate the news: Let's continue to send righteous thoughts at 9:00 p.m. every night to completely eliminate the evil factors in Beijing area.

Recently, serious incidents including Dafa practitioners have gone missing and being abducted have successively occurred in several areas in China. In the Xinmin District, Shenyang City, Dafa practitioners including Ms. Liu Yueqiu and Ms. Cao Deyan were abducted. Practitioner Pei Yunfeng is missing.
[Yi County, Hebei Province] Arrest of Practitioners Xu Xiuyan, Zhao Jinfeng, and Wei Xiuling
On May 18, police from Yi County together with other local officials arrested practitioners Ms. Xu Xiuyan from Xiwei Village in Tanghu Town, Yi County, Ms. Zhao Jinfeng and Ms. Wei Xiuling from Peishan Town, and Ms. Li Wenfeng from Xishanbei Township.
Since July 20, 1999, when the sensitive days* were approaching, police from Yi County and personnel from local government would persecute those practitioners whom they consider determined. They held practitioners at detention centers or local government offices to abuse and maltreat them, and forced them to give up their belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." In Xishanbei Township alone, four practitioners have been forced to leave home and go from place to place to avoid the persecution.
Since July 20, 1999, the local government extorted at least 100 Yuan**, or up to several thousand Yuan, from all practitioners, even those who had just learned the exercises the two days previously. Some practitioners' homes have been ransacked and destroyed. Local citizens said these deeds were worse than what had been done by bandits.

[Baoding City, Hebei Province] Arrest of Many Practitioners
On the evening of May 28, police from Wangdu County in Baoding City, Hebei Province arrested practitioners Mr. Guo Quantai, Mr. Zhao Wenguang, Ms. Zu Junling and Mr. Tian Guoping, who had practiced Falun Gong in the past. They also arrested six practitioners from Jiacun Township, Wangdu County whose names we don't know. All these practitioners are now detained at a detention center.
