Facts of the Persecution

At the end of March 2003, the conscienceless manager of the Xuchang County Tobacco Company in He-nan Province gathered together three Falun Dafa practitioners from the company and their families, and tried to make them write Guarantee Statements¹, threatening that they would otherwise lose their jobs. The manager threatened that their families would be jobless as well. Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Huafen absolutely refused to cooperate with the evil, and she became destitute and homeless in order to avoid being lawlessly arrested at her home. The manager withheld all her salary and her husband's salary (her husband is not a Falun Dafa practitioner). In conjunction with the local police, the manager forced her husband to go searching everywhere for her, leaving her over 70-year-old mother and their pre-teenage child at home without care. The second Falun Dafa practitioner Huang Shuangxia and her non-practitioner husband both were suspended from their work, had their salaries withheld, and were only given minimal living expenses. The third Falun Dafa practitioner Qiu Feng is a retired employee. Her retirement salary has also been withheld, and she only receives the bare minimum for living expenses. This conscienceless manager is still persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners.

Fellow practitioner A said that when she clarifies the truth to her family members, they always say she went to extremes. She was always angry after each try. We exchanged experiences several times. I thought it was not accidental that I heard her situation; I must have attachments I had not let go of yet. But I did not search within very seriously, I just made myself busy with Dafa work. As a result, my Dafa work always faced difficulties, even sending forth righteous thoughts would not work. Finally I was determined to look inside calmly after studying the Fa. When I finally found my attachments, my printer started working again. I enlightened that the requirements of the Fa are getting higher since the path is at its last stage. I myself must pay attention to upgrading xinxing², and emphasize self-cultivation, so that I can keep up with Master's requirement for us in the Fa-rectification process. I must reach the standards of purity in order to reach consummation.

News from China

On June 2, 2003, my husband was riding in his colleague's three-wheel car. Because the car went too fast, he was thrown out while they were turning. His head hit a rock, and started bleeding. People sent him to the hospital for emergency medical care. Although he lost a lot of blood, he was in good spirits, and rosy cheeked. His head had only several stitches. I told him in tears, "Dafa blessed you, otherwise you probably would have died. It was Dafa that saved you." He nodded in agreement. When people mentioned this incident, I always tell them, "Falun Dafa saved my husband's life, because I practice Falun Dafa. Please do not believe Jiang and his regime's evil propaganda. Only by treating Dafa kindly can one can be safe and live in peace."

After the flood season began, many provinces in China had continuous heavy rainstorms, which caused flooding. The Huai River region and Changjiang River region are the worst. According to the numbers that the Red Cross issued on Wednesday, 298 deaths have already been caused by flood disasters, and 100 million people have been affected.

News from Around the World

The World Journal reported on July 8, 2003, Falun Gong is one of the biggest entries in the Washington DC Fourth of July Parade. The Falun Dafa section included Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance banners, and ladies wearing Tang Dynasty costumes who performed a traditional Chinese belt dance. Following them were Falun Dafa practitioners wearing yellow exercise suits and demonstrating the exercises on a float. Last was the exciting dragon dance. Their performance won warm applause from the audience.

In the past two years, we had many difficulties when clarifying the truth to the Milwaukee City Mayor. Later we clarified the truth to all the city council members. We held "The Path of Fa-Rectification" Photo Show on June 23, 2003. We had a lot of interference in the morning. We learned that the mayor had resigned a moment earlier. We sent forth righteous thoughts in the afternoon, and the situation was getting better. The mayor thanked us for being there, and shook hands with us one by one. He thanked us from the bottom of his heart while looking straight into our eyes. That evening, we lit 100 candles, sent forth righteous thoughts, and sang songs. We gave a police officer a flyer and a lotus flower with Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance written on it. This kindhearted police officer repeated these three words many times. He said with tears in his eyes that he will never forget these three words, and that he would put this lotus flower on his desk.

A Guarantee Statement¹ is a statement declaring that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.

Xinxing² is one's moral character, also translated as mind nature or heart nature.
