When I first tried to clarify the truth, I thought I was not good at speaking with people and was afraid that I would not be convincing, and that people would therefore not understand what I was saying. I had all kinds of fears. Human mentalities were restricting me and I could not improve in the Fa. Therefore, I was very slow to act. Master Li said, "If you are not afraid, the factor that would make you afraid will cease to exist. This is not to be self-imposed, but is achieved by truly and calmly letting go of it." ("Eliminating Your Last Attachments"). I realized that if I, as a practitioner, could not be calm and let go of my attachments, and with my fears rooted in selfishness, then I did not trust Master Li completely and I had not studied the Fa in depth. When I realized what was holding me back, I became an active participant in Fa-rectification activities. In the past few years, rain or shine, I go with fellow practitioners to distribute or post flyers, and to hang up banners. We have covered all of the villages in our township and were "Spreading the Fa's principles throughout the secular world" ("Tathagata"). As a result, many people have come to understand the truth.

I am 64 years old. On September 16, 2001, I went to Tiananmen Square, Beijing to shout, "Falun Dafa is good, Falun Dafa is good." I was arrested by the police and sent to a police station, where I told them the facts about the persecution. When I was sent to another police station, I continued my truth-clarification efforts. The police asked for my name and address, but I did not tell them anything. I was released on September 18.

The Associate Director of the Township's Foreign Economics and Trade Commission's experience validating the Fa:

Since July 20, 1999, my superior has tried to talk me into renouncing my belief and giving up my practice of Falun Gong. When I didn't cooperate, I was demoted and eventually had my wages suspended. I have been arrested several times and was sent to a forced labor camp for two years. During the ten days I stayed at the forced labour camp, I did not cooperate with the authorities. A physical checkup revealed that I had "problems" and so I was sent home for medical reasons. In 2001, I was abducted to a brainwashing center. I worked with the other practitioners there to clarify the truth to the staff at the center and persisted in sending forth righteous thoughts; we eventually improved the environment. When the brainwashing sessions ended, none of the practitioners had been transformed. Instead, many staff members from nearby townships were saved. I enlightened that as a practitioner, as long as you can strengthen your righteous thoughts, act according to the Fa, and believe in Master Li, you will be able to pass all tests.

Since July 20, 1999, lawless officials from Taoqu Township, Linxi City, and Shandong Province have been brutally persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Led by Jiang Yongjian, Taoqu Township Party Secretary, and Liu Xingshi, Township Governor, the lawless officials have illegally jailed and brutally beaten at least 100 Falun Gong practitioners and imposed huge fines on them. Early in 2001, on orders from Liu Zhimin, Taoqu Township Party Secretary, Mo Guangli and Bao Xitang went to many practitioner's homes to search for books. The perpetrators ransacked practitioner's homes and illegally jailed the practitioners. In the jails, the practitioners were beaten, fined, and then sent to a forced labor camp. Many more were forced to leave home and move from place to place to avoid the persecution. Since 2003 began, and with the progress of Fa-rectification, the evil elements have become fewer and fewer. The head of the local "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] was replaced and there are fewer staff in the department. Apparently their strength has been weakened.
