1. Solely for revenge, Sun Lizhong and others from the Yingzhou Police Department sentenced a female practitioner, Sun Suzheng, to five years' imprisonment.

Han Kai and Sun Suzheng (female) are a married couple with a son, Han Xudong. They are from the Yingzhou District of Tieling City, Liaoning Province. Everyone in the family practices Falun Gong.

Sun Suzheng went to Beijing numerous times to appeal for Falun Gong, and was consequently detained many times. In May 2000, she went to Beijing again and was detained for 30 days after being arrested. She was then sent to the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for one year of forced-labor re-education without a trial. After she was released in 2001, police followed her to Changchun City. They beat her until she lost consciousness, and then threw her into a police car. The police, however, could not find any so-called evidence after they ransacked and searched her home. So they had to release Sun. The police later went to her home and harassed her. Sun refused to open the door for them, so the police broke down the door using an electric drill. They kidnapped Sun in front of many local residents. Sun had very strong righteous thoughts, and the police had no cause or evidence to arrest her, so they had no choice but to release her again.

In order to protect her legal rights according to the law, Sun Suzheng went to the Provincial Police Bureau to file reports on the illegal acts committed by the local policemen. Police officer Sun Lizhong and others found out about it, and then kidnapped her while she was shopping. Sun Suzheng was taken against her will to a detention center and after being detained for approximately 7-8 months there with out the benefit of a trial, she was summarily sentenced to a 5 year term in the Dabei Jail. Sun had severe heart disease before she started practicing Falun Gong. After arriving to the jail, Sun showed symptoms of the disease. The jail refused to accept her twice because she did not pass the physical exam. Even then officer Sun Lizhong would not release her for medical treatment. Eventually they forced the jail to lock her up.

Sun's husband Han Kai is 52 years old. On July 20, 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. He was arrested in September. After being detained for 15 days, he was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. He did not have any visitation rights during the imprisonment. He was released on October 2000. In spring 2001, police found truth-clarifying flyers and banners in the area. They suspected that Han was involved and tried to arrest him. Han learned ahead of time of the police' plan and was able to escape. His whereabouts are unknown. The police issued a warrant for his arrest, and they confiscated his car (of an estimated value of 70,000 Yuan). Sun Lizhong (Head of Political Security Office), Yang Dongsheng (clerk), and others use the car as transportation to continue the persecution on Falun Dafa practitioners. [Note: 500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.]

Han Xudong is 25 years old. He was studying at a local college while working. He was caught clarifying the truth on the Internet. Because of that, he was expelled from school, and he also lost his job. He is currently being detained at an unknown place. These are the facts of how a happy family was torn apart by lawless police.

2. Husband and wife were subjected to savage tortures and were illegally sentenced to 5-year prison terms.

Han Banggui and Liu Shuyuan (female) are a married couple from the Yingzhou District of Tieling City. They are both Falun Dafa practitioners. Police officer Sun Lizhong and others from the Yingzhou Police Department accused them of posting truth-clarifying banners in the area. The next step was for the police to extort confessions from them through torture. They were both sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Han Banggui went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. He was arrested and detained for 15 days in September. After he was released he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa a second time. He was arrested again in October 1999, and he was detained for 30 days. Han was released after the police extorted over 10,000 Yuan from his workplace and his friends. Han was again kidnapped in July 2000. After being detained for 30 days, he was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. He was released in 2001. After he came home, he was subjected to constant harassment from the police. They installed bugging devices in his home. When the police found truth-clarifying flyers and banners in the area, they suspected Han and his wife were responsible so they searched his home and took him to a detention center. He was tortured until he lost consciousness and his life was in danger. Han confessed under this horrific persecution and at the edge of unconsciousness. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison. He is currently jailed at Dengta Prison. In addition, when Han was arrested in Beijing, he had 1,700 Yuan cash and a cell phone on him which were taken by the police. The car Han had purchased with a fellow practitioner Han Kai, with an estimated value of 70,000 Yuan, was confiscated by Sun Lizhong (Head of Political Security Office) and Yang Dongsheng (clerk).

Han's wife, Liu Shuyuan, also went to Beijing to appeal on July 20, 1999. She was detained for 15 days after being arrested in September. After her release, she went to Beijing for the second time to appeal for Falun Gong. Liu was arrested again, and after being detained for 30 days in October, she was sentenced to 2 years in a forced labor camp. Over a year later, Lui was released in spring of 2001. Soon after, she was kidnapped with her husband, suspected of handing out truth-clarifying materials and hanging banners. While at the detention center, the police attempted to extort a confession from her using torture and secretly recorded conversations, then used portions of the recordings taken out of context. Liu was beaten almost to death. Liu Shuyuan was sentenced to 5 years in prison. She is currently jailed at Dabei Jail. Both husband and wife are in prison unjustly.
