1. [China and Overseas] Web Site FMGTV.org Attacked by Hackers; Users Need to Reconfigure Computer Settings

The fmgtv.org web site was attacked by hackers during the period of May 19 through May 26, 2003. A vicious Trojan horse attack was made which created a false login screen and took visitor's login information. We request that the visitors (including Falun Dafa practitioners) who visited the website fmgtv.org during this period of time delete the history of visits to web sites, change machine names, usernames, and other passwords, and remove other sensitive information from your machine. If a user has been using a proxy service, it is recommended that a different service be used. The fgmtv.org web site has now been restored.

2. [China] Falun Dafa Practitioner Living in the Mountains Sends Teacher His Greetings

A Falun Dafa practitioner delivered Falun Gong materials to a fellow practitioner living in the mountains who has lost contact with other practitioners. Upon receiving the new materials, he eagerly asked about Teacher and wanted the practitioner to relay his greetings. The practitioner who delivered the documents promised to do so, and shared the thoughts that we all need to cultivate diligently to live up to Teacher's teachings.

The practitioners in the mountains had thought they would be able to meet Teacher often. They live a quiet farming life in the mountains. After sunset, they travel the rocky, tortuous paths to deliver copies of Falun Gong truth materials to villagers near and far. Rarely, often not even once a year, do many of them come out of the mountains. They want to stay far away from the rest of the world and asked us to convey their best wishes to Teacher.

3. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Prior to the 16th Party's Congress Convening Numerous Falun Dafa Practitioners Were Arrested by the Taiyuan City's "610 Office"

During the last two weeks of October 2002, prior the opening of the 16th Party's Congress, the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] in Taiyuan City sent out squads of police officers for a frenzied campaign to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners. In the Hexi and Nanjiao areas alone, more than fifty people were kidnapped during a single night.

4. [Chongqing] Several Falun Dafa Practitioners from Beipei District Were Unlawfully Arrested

On May 13th, informers called the police while Falun Dafa practitioner Lai Hengju, from Moxinpo in Beipei District was clarifying the truth about the persecution. Lai was unlawfully arrested.

On May 19th, police abducted Falun Dafa practitioner Chen (pseudonym) from Shuitu Town in the Beipei District while he was on his way home. Chen's whereabouts are unknown.

On May 28th, six or seven police officers abducted Falun Dafa practitioner Li Jifeng from his own store. Li's whereabouts are unknown.

In addition, the police have ransacked several Falun Dafa practitioners' homes. According to reliable sources, the Beipei Police Department will launch a month-long campaign to search for and arrest Falun Dafa practitioners starting on May 28th.

5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Jiang's Cohorts in Qiaokou District Begin to Screen for Falun Dafa Practitioners Again

Jiang's followers in Qiaokou District, Wuhan City have once again begun combing the entire area for Falun Dafa practitioners. For no reason, officials have shown up in Falun Dafa practitioners' homes. They took Yu Zuhong and others to the Etouwan Brainwashing Center.

6. [Shanghai] Falun Dafa Practitioner Qu Yanlai Remains on Hunger Strike in the Putuo District Detention Center for 250 Days and Nights

At the end of September 2002, the Shanghai police from the Putuo District Division abducted Qu Yanlai from his home. He is being held in the Putuo District Detention Center. Ever since he was abducted, he has been on a continuous hunger strike that began on October 1, 2002 and has now lasted about 250 days and nights.

7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Leaders of the Kunlun Company, Who Are Affiliated with the Daqing Petroleum Administration Bureau in Heilongjiang Province, Continue to Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners

Recently the Kunlun Company, which is affiliated with the Daqing Petroleum Administration Bureau, was discovered to be plotting with the "610 Office," and assisting in the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. Leaders of the company have sent out people to forcibly take employees who are Falun Dafa practitioners to a brainwashing center. After these attempts failed, officials have unlawfully harassed family members of practitioners, which was not successful either.

8. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Facts About the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp's Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners

(1) Ms. Zhang Yufang was arrested while appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing. She was sent back to a local detention center where she was unlawfully detained for two months. The local government and the "610 Office" demanded 10,000 Yuan from her family before they released her. [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] Less than a year later, she was arrested again and sent to the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp for further persecution.

(2) Mr. Duan Xiulong was unlawfully held in custody for over a year after going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. After he was released, he continued to practice Falun Gong exercises at his home and was hence unlawfully sentenced to forced labor. He is currently being held in the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp.

(3) Mr. Gao Yin practiced Falun Gong exercises at home and thus faced arrest. He was forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution.

(4) Ms. Duan Xiuling was arrested for practicing Falun Gong exercises at home. She was unlawfully sentenced to forced labor and is being held in the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp.

(5) Ms. Gao Meiyang was unlawfully sentenced to forced labor for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She is being held in the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Liu Jinguo Remains in Custody After Serving His Original Unlawful Term at the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp

On May 6, 2001, police unlawfully arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Jinguo while he was telling the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. Mr. Liu is from Shuangyang District, Changchun City. He was unlawfully sentenced to two years of forced labor. His sentence has expired, however he remains in custody for his steadfast belief in Falun Dafa. The SARS infection is quite serious in Changchun City and the forced labor unit prohibits any visits. Updates on Liu's current condition are unavailable.

10. [Gongyi City, Henan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Zhang Qiaojun and Zhao Songmao Abused by the Police

Zhang Qiaojun was sent to brainwashing facilities five times for his steadfast belief in Falun Dafa. The police have forcibly searched his home numerous times. The only cash he had, 500 Yuan, was taken away. In the detention center, Zhang was brutally tortured. He is currently being held in the Gongyi City Drug Rehabilitation Center.

Zhao Songmao was unlawfully held in custody for over half a year for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. He was then sentenced to forced labor for not giving up his beliefs. His term was extended twice, the first time for three more months and the second time for six months. His family member Zhao Junying was fined 3000 Yuan simply for making a phone call.

11. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Qingyuan County Political Security Committee and Police Department Unlawfully Arrest Numerous Falun Dafa Practitioners

Recently under the cooperation from the Qingyuan County Political and Judiciary Committee, the Fushun City Police Department unlawfully arrested numerous Falun Dafa practitioners. Falun Dafa practitioners arrested include Li Wensong and his wife Wei Minghua, Zhou Yuren, Zhou Fulong, Zhou Yuyi and his wife Zhou Meina, Zhou Yuyi's daughter Zhou Yuying, Zhao Liankai, Ms. Jiang Defang, Ms. Wang Guihua, Wang Lan, and Yan Yuezeng and his wife Liu Jinping.

Wei Minghua is a teacher at the First Middle School in Qingyuan County. While the entire student body and faculty watched, police officers from the Fushun Police Department threw her on the ground and then dragged her to the police car. Then, Li Wensong was carried by Fushun Police Department officers from the sixth floor down to the police car. Many neighbors have witnessed these types of brutal acts by the police.

12. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Over 100 Falun Dafa Practitioners Unlawfully Held in the Jilin City Prison

There are at least 100 Falun Dafa practitioners being held at the Jilin City Prison in Jilin Province. Due to the SARS outbreak, it is likely that no visits by family members will be granted for more than six months. Details from within the prison are not available.

14. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Sun Li Is Unlawfully Held in Custody at the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Sun Li is from Sujiatun, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Based on an informer's tips, she was arrested on January 30, 2003 by the Hunhe Police Station in Sujiatun. She was hung from her handcuffed wrists and tortured. Later she was transferred to the No. 4 Detention Center and held in custody for 46 days. She managed to briefly walk out of the detention center on March 16, 2003 using righteous thoughts. After being recaptured by the "610 Office," she was sent to the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp to be brainwashed and inhumanely tortured.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Cheng Huaxiu was turned in by her neighbor and taken away by officers from the Dongzhan Police Station on April 11th.

15. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Retired Teacher, Hu Xiaofeng, from the Chengdu Airplane Motor Company School for Employees' Children Has Been on a Hunger Strike for over 10 Days in Xinjin County

Members of the security section of the Chengdu Airplane Motor Company forcibly took away Ms. Hu Xiaofeng, who is over 60 years old. She was sent to a facility in Xinjin County and is being held in isolation. The company has dispatched two people to monitor her. Falun Dafa practitioners are even forced to pay the monitoring staff's wages and compensation. In order to protest against unlawful custody, Ms. Hu has been on a hunger strike for over ten days.

In addition, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Jiang Xunlan, who is also over 60 years old, was taken away by police officers who broke into her home. She is being unlawfully held in custody.

16. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Proposals from Baoding Falun Dafa Practitioners

Recently, the "SARS Prevention Offices" in counties across the Baoding area have sent out secret documents requesting local authorities set up checkpoints to prohibit foreign (and out of town) journalists from visiting unless they have a full set of the necessary paperwork. Visitors have to carry authorizations approved by all levels of government or be accompanied by government officials or heads of police departments. All other visitors will be detained and sent back by government agencies or police departments. During the height of SARS alert, authorities in the Baoding area have also issued documents to enforce family planning. Population statistics are being gathered in each of the communities. Each family has to report all members in the family. Courts and police departments are also involved in supervising this project. Residential quarters have gates guarded 24 hours a day. Signs have been posted denying outsiders entry to the residential quarters. We remind all Falun Dafa practitioners, especially those who have been forced to leave home and are traveling from place to place, that we must bear righteous thoughts, carry out righteous actions, and eliminate the old forces arrangements.

In addition, Falun Dafa practitioners in Xiong County in Baoding area have recently distributed a large quantity of truth-clarifying materials, which has sent shock waves through the evil. Campaigns are under way to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners. In Laishui County and Mancheng County, as well as Baoding City, there are many cases of Falun Dafa practitioner arrests.

17. [Liaoning Province] Reports from Falun Dafa Practitioners in Liaoning Province

After Jiang arrived in Dalian City, Liaoning Province in May, the Political Judiciary Committee and the Police Department of Dalian City placed many Falun Dafa practitioners under arrest. The deputy governor of Liaoning Province, who is also the mayor of Dalian City, is the niece of Jiang. Under the excuse of "enforcing order in the society," the Political Judiciary Committee and the Police Department of Dalian City issued a quota to all the cities, counties and districts for sending people to prison, forced labor camps, or detention centers (specifically targeting Falun Dafa practitioners). Heads of the government and police departments in the five most under performing counties will be removed from their posts. Some cities, counties and districts have already started arresting Falun Dafa practitioners.
