[Chengde City, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Chen Yanyu Hunger Strikes to Protest; Life in Danger

Practitioner Chen Yanyu was an ophthalmologist from Hebei Province's Xinglong Mineral Resources Bureau. S/he was sentenced to forced labor for persisting in Dafa practice. After this term had expired, s/he was once again arrested on November 9, 2002, and was sentenced to six years of imprisonment. At present, Chen is staging a hunger strike to protest the persecution; his/her life is now in danger. Overseas fellow practitioners, please help to rescue this practitioner.

[Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioners Li Fei, Yang Hongxia and Xiaohong (Nickname)

On April 23, 2003, policemen from the local Lianshan District's Shanshenmiaozi Township Police Precinct arrested practitioner Li Fei at work. S/he is now detained at Huludao City Detention Center.

On the night of April 24, policemen from the local Nanpiao District's Nuanchitang Town Police Precinct abducted practitioner Ms. Yang Hongxia and her 11-year-old daughter. After torturing Ms. Yang, they sent her to the Huludao City Detention Center. Her daughter was released.

On April 28, police from the Shiyoujie Police Station arrested Ms. Xiaohong while she was distributing truth-clarifying materials at Huludao City's Oil Refinery Factory's supermarket. She is still detained at the police station.

[Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Abduct Practitioner Gao Heping

Ms. Gao Heping, 45-46 years old, was a technician from the Hegang City's Cultural & Educational Facility Factory, affiliated with the No.2 Light Industrial Bureau. She was arrested by local police and is detained in Harbin City. The specific detention location is unknown.

[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Arrest of More than Twenty Practitioners

At the beginning of March, Xiangfang District Police Precinct personnel illegally detained over 20 practitioners, including Mr. Yuan Qingjiang, Ms. Wang Shulan, Ms. Zhu Xiuli and Ms. Wang Lirong. Their relatives were not allowed to see these practitioners. Their detention place is unknown. On March 9, policemen from the Security Department, Xiangfang District Police Precinct ransacked several practitioners' homes so that practitioners cannot return home or go to work. They were forced to leave their homes and wander about to avoid further persecution.

[Shandong Province] Belated Persecution Accounts from the Shengli Oil Field

On July 20, 1999, more than 200 practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They were arrested back to a local brainwashing class, where they were forced to turn in Dafa books, write the "Guarantee Statement,"*² and sign the "no appeal" contract. Those practitioners who did not sign the contract were extorted of 5,000 Yuan*³.

In January of 2000, 32 practitioners were deceived into entering a brainwashing center and illegally detained there for over three months. They were not allowed to go back home during the Spring Festival. Each practitioner paid 50 Yuan for "daily accommodations." If the practitioner did not give up the practice, his/her son and daughter were not permitted to go to work or get any salary bonus.

In April of 2000, 44 practitioners were illegally detained and sent to a brainwashing center. Among them, 11 practitioners were sent to a forced labor camp, sentenced to one to three years of imprisonment, and forced to endure brutal torture. Another 32 practitioners' homes were ransacked, and the practitioners were extorted of 35,000 Yuan in total. A copy machine, a computer, and a video camera were taken away.

Mr. Hu Lin, 30 years old, is illegally detained at the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp. He has been determined in his Dafa practice, which effectively suffocated the evil.

Ms. Sun Tao, 35 years old, and a college graduate, was forced to leave home and wander about for more than a year to avoid the persecution. Recently, when she was walking in the street, a school official arrested her, and took her to Hebei Province's Brainwashing Center for persecution.

One recent evening, some plainclothes policemen appeared around Hongqi Street to interrogate and search passers-by who were suspected of delivering truth-clarifying materials. An elderly woman who doesn't practice Falun Gong was interrogated.

In 2002, six brainwashing sessions were held at Hubei Province's Legal System Education Class. It was reported that in 2003, the vicious officials would prepare to immediately hold two brainwashing sessions with only a one-week interval.

Before Shi Tinghua practiced Falun Dafa, he had had many diseases including diabetes. But all these diseases disappeared after practicing Falun Dafa. He was healthy. After July 20, 1999, he gave up Dafa practice to avoid being persecuted, and passed away in March of 2003 because of relapsing into his former illness.

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Wuchang District's Yujiatou Brainwashing Center Orders Collaborators to Track and Arrest Dafa Practitioners

According to reliable sources, Wuchang District's Yujiatou Brainwashing Center in Wuhan City temporarily dismissed and re-assigned all collaborators*⁴ who helped persecute Dafa practitioners, in order to let them track Dafa practitioners during the "May 1 Holiday" and "World Falun Dafa Day" on May 13 and arrest practitioners into brainwashing centers. Several Dafa practitioners in Zhongnanjie Area have been arrested.

Li Guanghai was arrested for distributing truth-clarifying flyers and is illegally detained at the Huludao City Forced Labor Camp. The lawless police in the camp brutally tortured him many times, but he is still very steadfast in his Dafa practice. He is still illegally detained at this forced labor camp.
