A Dafa practitioner's experience in cultivation and validating Dafa:
I started to cultivate Falun Dafa in 1998, and I am now 57 years old. During the past several years, whenever I was detained in detention centers or forced labor camps, I did not cooperate with the evil. This was because I kept Teacher's words in mind: "If you can't pass the first test, then the second one is going to be really tough." (Zhuan Falun, Lecture 6) If we all guard our xinxing, validate Dafa, clarify the truth well with righteous thoughts, and let go of our fear, then we can pass all the tests and tribulations. Fellow practitioners, let us be diligent in our cultivation.
News from China
There have been heavy rains in southern China recently. In Guangdong Province, over 15 people died due to floods in the cities of Meizhou, Heyuan, and Lianzhou. Parts of Hunan Province were also flooded. In areas like Binzhou, hundreds of thousands of people were affected by floods; at least 19 people died, over 10 people disappeared, and many more were injured.
In Kunming City, Yunnan Province, 140 thousand people and 70 thousand domestic animals now suffer a shortage of drinking water because of a drought; the city is having the highest amount of sunlight exposure it's had in the past 52 years, and rainfall is at a severe low. In a factory in Huiyang City, Guangdong Province, about 120 people have suffered from food poisoning. The cause of this is unclear.
The World Health Organization reported on May 16, 2003 that the number of new SARS cases in Beijing has dropped dramatically, yet experts have cautioned against concluding that the city's SARS cases are on a downward trend. They warned that misdiagnosis of cases could be contributing to the lower case numbers in recent days, and that this may promote more infections. WHO has also added 5 more provinces in China as Epidemic Disease areas, including Shannxi, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hebei, and Jilin.
