RFI (Radio France Internationale) Reports on the WOIPFG's Findings on the Tiananmen "Self-Immolation"
(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of the May 15 2003, RFI broadcast the following report in Mandarin to Chinese people in Paris and Mainland China:
News from the Vancouver branch of the Central News Agency stated that the "World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong" held a press conference in Vancouver, Canada yesterday. This organisation published the result of its investigation into the "self-immolation" on Tiananmen Square, which was broadcast on CCTV [Central Chinese Television] on January 23 2001. [The report] indicated that the "self-immolation" of Falun Gong practitioners on Tiananmen Square was a hoax plotted by a Chinese Official.
Evidence provided by the "World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong" during the press conference has indicated that Wang Jindong, one of the five persons who participated in the Tiananmen self-immolation, was played by an active soldier.
The Central News Agency also reported that a sound laboratory located in the University of Taiwan, has come to the conclusion that Wang Jindong's voice in the first part of CCTV broadcast "Focus Talk" is different from that of the other two parts. Therefore, one can tell that it was not the same person who appeared in all three parts of "Focus Talk". On January 23 2003, the "World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong" established the Tiananmen Self-immolation Investigation Committee. After this [report] the organisation was convinced that the so-called incident of Falun Gong practitioners committing self-immolation on Tiananmen Square was fake.
