1. [Longjiang County, Heilongjiang Province] Follow-up Reports on the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioner Chen Rong from Longjiang County, Heilongjiang Province
It has been reported on Clearwisdom.net [see article in Chinese http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2003/5/9/35439.html] that Chen Rong lost consciousness as a result of torture received from members of the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] and was sent to a county hospital for emergency care. It was reported that Ms. Chen regained consciousness on April 19 and left the hospital on April 21. She is being taken care of by family members and friends. She has no feeling throughout her body and can only move her eyes. Medical examinations at the hospital have indicated that she received serious injuries on the back of her head.
2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Li Longshui Is Thrown into the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City, Liaoning Province
Mr. Li Longshui, 63 years old, is a worker at the Cangshi Food Storage House in Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province. At 8:30 a.m. on the April 5, 2003, he was having breakfast at home. Government clerk Ju Ping led two police officers from town to arrest him and bring him to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City.

The No. 4 Ward in the Fanjiatai Prison is one of the darkest places where the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners is being carried out. Over thirty Falun Dafa practitioners are being held there. Police officers in the prison have mentally and physically abused Falun Dafa practitioners in order to coerce them into giving up cultivation and writing so-called "guarantees to quit practicing Falun Gong." The following abuses are commonplace occurrences: Forcing Falun Dafa practitioners daily to read materials defaming Falun Dafa, assigning three inmates to monitor each Falun Dafa practitioner, forbidding visits from family members, locking practitioners up in isolated cells, depriving them of sleep, and overloading them with heavy labor. The police are planning a new round of persecution.

4. [Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Huang Xiuying and Liu Chiwei from Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province Are Arrested
Ms. Huang Xiuying, who is around 60 years old, was arrested in April 2003 after being followed by police officers from the Qijiang Police Station. Ms. Liu Chiwei, who is over 30 years old, is an elementary school teacher. She was arrested by the Shiqi District Division of the Police Department while distributing Falun Gong truth materials in early May 2003. Her whereabouts remain unknown.

5. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Members of the Zhijiang County "610 Office" Unreasonably Hold Faun Dafa Practitioner's Family Member Hostage
Ms. Liu Jinyu, who is over 60 years old, is a peasant in the Tangwan Group of Cangfeng'ao Village at Zhupingpu Township in Zhijiang County, Hunan Province. Police officer Zhang Yinglong from the Zhijiang County "610 Office" led others in arresting her for her steadfastness in practicing Falun Dafa. Her home was also ransacked. She was unlawfully held in the detention center for over a month, during which time members of the "610 Office" extorted from her between 3,000 and 5,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China]. Later Ms. Liu managed to run away from the detention center and had to stay away from her home, moving from place to place. With no shame, members of the Zhijiang County "610 Office" became angry and have held Liu's 40-year-old son, who is not a Falun Gong practitioner, in custody ever since.

6. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Engineer Li Jianli of the Lincang Mining Factory Was Thrown into a Brainwashing Center in 2001 -- His Whereabouts Remain Unknown
Mr. Liu Jianli is over 30 years old and has a bachelor's degree. He was formerly the Falun Gong assistant in the Dongliutun family quarters. After July 20, 1999, Liu went to Beijing alone to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong and to clarify the facts to the public. He was unlawfully detained by police officers in Tiananmen Square. After sending him back to where he was from, the police threw him into the Tangshan City Psychiatric Hospital for mental and physical abuse. Half a year later, Liu's family was forced to pay an exorbitant fine in exchange for his release from the mental hospital. Liu has held to his belief in Falun Dafa and refused to write "Guarantee Statements" denouncing Falun Dafa. In 2001, Mr. Liu was sent to the Tangshan City brainwashing center. His whereabouts have remained unknown ever since. It has been reported that Liu became paralyzed as a result of the torture he received, and his work unit has sent over a couple of people to "supervise" him.
7. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Liu Yanmin Is Unlawfully Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor
Ms. Liu Yanmin is over 40 years old and is from Wuji County, Hebei Province. She rented an apartment at Huayuancun in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. When the Party's 16th National Congress was in session [in November 2002], she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was unlawfully arrested and held in the Wuji County Detention Center. During the Chinese lunar Spring Festival season, Ms. Liu went on a hunger strike in the detention center and was later sent to a hospital for emergency treatment. She managed to escape from the hospital. The police arrested her while she was trying to contact others and sent her back to the Wuji County Detention Center. She managed to walk away again with righteous thoughts in her mind. The police threatened her family members and tapped their telephones, which resulted in her arrest once again. Ms. Liu Yanmin has been sentenced to three years of prison and is being held in the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp.

About a month ago, there was a major crime committed in the southwest region of Shandong Province. Over a dozen people in a family were murdered. Local residents have been horrified and no one dares to leave home at night. Some people have taken advantage of this murder to try to frame Falun Gong. Recently this rumor, which frames Falun Gong, has spread to the Zhumadian and Xinxiang areas in Henan Province, where local residents don't dare to leave home at night either. Whenever there is a problem somewhere, it is necessary for Falun Dafa practitioners to clarify the truth. It's up to Falun Dafa practitioners to hold firm belief and carry out the three things of clarifying the facts, sending forth righteous thoughts, and studying the Fa. Only in this way can we correct the environment around us, eliminating the evil and benefiting sentient beings.
9. [Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province] Police Officers from the Dongxing Police Station Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners
Police officers from the Dongxing Police Station have even banned Falun Dafa practitioners from going to the restroom while they conduct brainwashing. Xi Daniu, chief of the police station, coerced Falun Dafa practitioners to lie on television to defame Falun Gong. Shen Ping, in the political security section of the Kunshan City Police Department supervised the torture of Falun Dafa practitioners. He has also been engaged in personal attacks, brainwashing, and humiliations by forcing practitioners to sign or press fingerprints on the detention papers. Another officer, Xiong, has actively forced practitioners to undergo brainwashing.
