(Clearwisdom.net) On April 4 and 5, 2003, the International Human Rights Association in Germany held its Annual General Meeting. Two Falun Gong practitioners were invited to report on China's human rights situation. Two unanimous resolutions were reached which requested the German government to take any measure available to stop the Chinese regime from damaging human rights and persecuting Falun Gong. The following is an extract from a report by Tian Yi, special correspondent for Radio Free Asia:

On April 4th and 5th, the International Human Rights Association held its Annual General Meeting in Germany. Falun Gong practitioners from Germany and other countries were invited to attend this meeting. Ms. Zheng Zhi Hong, a scholar of law from the University of Zhejiang in China, also attended. On April 7th, she was interviewed by journalists and explained the purpose of the meeting in detail.

Practitioner Ms. Dai Zhizhen from Australia gave details of the brutal persecution of her family in China. The meeting attendees passed a resolution on the human rights situation in China. Another resolution regarding the persecution of Falun Gong was also passed. They requested the German government to take any necessary and effective measures to restrain the Chinese government from violating human rights and persecuting Falun Gong. The meeting also brought forward four requests.

One of these requests was for the German government to keep an eye on the activities of the Chinese consular services in Germany. Another request was to ask the German government to condemn China at the human rights meeting held in Geneva, and to propose a resolution to condemn China for their human rights record.

In conclusion, Zheng Zhi Hong commented that the two resolutions that were unanimously passed would be sent to the German government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all members of the German and European parliaments. The resolutions would also be sent to the relevant personnel and organisations at the human rights meeting held in Geneva, as well as relevant human rights and religious groups. German media will be notified of this event and the information will be made available to all concerned.
