Facts of the Persecution

Practitioners Hui Hongqi and Xiang Yidan, a couple from Shijiazhuang of Hebei Province, were taken from a rented house sometime before November 16, 2003. Their current whereabouts are unknown. Around November 16, 2003, practitioner Ma Shuqing, who lived near the Hebei Daily office, was taken away by the police of Yuhua East Road Police Station.

On the evening of April 19, 2003, Deng Guangtan, the head of Anren County Public Security Bureau of Chongzhou area of Hunan Province, led the police to Yongxin area. They took away 16 people, including 5 non-practitioners. All of the practitioners who had been abducted from Yongxin suffered brutal beatings. Their bodies were covered with cuts and bruises. In May 2003, practitioners Mr. Chen Yiyuan, Ms. Cao Lianfang and Chen were forcibly paraded through the streets. Each wearing a signboard, with the charge they are accused of, hanging on their necks in order to humiliate them.

Qianan City Brainwashing Center of Hebei Province forced practitioners to read slanderous articles out loud and write papers criticizing Falun Dafa. Practioners are given pitiful amounts of food daily and are then forced to do hard labor. They are also made to undergo what is called "training." The "training" consists of one of the following: walking by touching one knee to the ground with each step; walking back-to-back with another practitioner; hopping on one or both legs; crawling on the ground; running around the yard with a 40 or 50-pound sand bag on the back under the burning sun. They are forced to do these things for hours to make it as torturous as possible and often for days or months on end. Even under such vicious conditions these people refused to give up their belief in the principles of Dafa. They continue to reject those attempts to "transform" them in the brainwashing centers. The Dafa practitioners are rectifying their cultivation environment.

Practitioners Exchange Insights and Experiences

How can we improve the results of our efforts to clarify the truth?

• We should focus on three points. First, introduce the current situation of Dafa's spread around the world. Second, speak out about the persecution suffered by people who practice the principles of Falun Dafa (Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance). Clear up doubts caused by propaganda, using the examples such as "Tiananmen Self-immolation," "the murder by Fu Chuanlin," etc. Third, tell the people who are listening to us that Falun Dafa and its principles are righteous. We would like them to think about and analyze those incidents for themselves. With righteous thoughts they should not be deceived again. Tell them that cherishing Dafa would bring blessings to them in the future. Ask them to pass the truth to their relatives and friends.

• We should be careful on the following points: First, if we do not have enough time, focus on exposing lies and fabricated incidents. Second, if time allows, we may clarify the truth in detail. Third, if the listener has already learned a few facts about Dafa, talk with him/her more deeply so that he could get further understandings. Fourth, if he has a few positive understandings about God, Buddha and religions, we may relate our topic to stories of Shakyamuni, Jesus and prophesies in history. Let them know that the spread of Dafa in the world today is not coincidental. Fifth, we may choose different topics and touch points based on the listener's education, background, profession, age and gender. Sixth, we should use the language that ordinary people can understand, extending our talk from the surface to the deeper levels. We should be very careful not to talk too high or about things that would make people misunderstand us. This would result in damaging Dafa. Seventh, for those who are unwilling to listen to the truth or are against talking about Dafa, we may send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil factors in other dimensions hindering them. If their attitudes are still not changed, we should not be in a hurry to talk. Eighth, we need to pay attention to whether the environment is an appropriate occasion to clarify the truth to people. We should be rational and clear-minded so that we can avoid any loopholes that can be taken advantage of. Ninth, it would be better if we could give or send flyers and/or literature to people when we talk to them about the facts about Falun Gong.

• The key to truth-clarification is Dafa disciples' clear and correct understanding of the Fa and Fa-rectification. Generally speaking, whoever studies Fa well and cultivates well would obtain better responses when clarifying the truth to people. Therefore, we must pay attention to our Fa-study. At the same time, we should keep up with the current situation to learn about the Fa-rectification process in China and worldwide. We should be aware of the persecution against Dafa practitioners. The more detailed information we learn, the more touching and effective our discussions would be.

Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions

Study the Fa With a Clear and Clean Mind and Keep Clarifying Truth with Various Methods

When I first began studying the Fa, I could not keep my mind clean. I always felt I needed to do something in a hurry. So I got myself busy with some projects at first. Later on as I realized it was not correct, I made up my mind to lay down everything and fix a time to study the Fa everyday. I told myself that no matter what happened, I must finish reading three lectures before I do any other things everyday. It was easy to say but difficult to keep doing. I tried my best to keep reading as I planned. A few weeks passed. My fellow practitioners said that I changed a lot. I also felt that the environment around me became increasingly righteous, pure and harmonious. I felt how happy I am when I am harmonized with the Fa. I also kept clarifying the truth to my parents, my relatives, old classmates and colleagues, as well as talking to people via Internet chat and phone calls.
