(Clearwisdom.net) Thanksgiving Day is one of the most important festivals in American society, similar to the Chinese Lunar New Year when the whole family gets reunited. On Thanksgiving Day in 2002, the famous newspaper in the Atlanta Charter published a report "I came home, she was gone." It reported on the story of Atlanta resident Mr. Lu Chaohui and his wife Ms. Zhou Xuefei. The article recounted the young couple's happy life before Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong in Mainland China, and the torment the persecution imposed upon them and harm to their families.

The article touched countless people's hearts and had been republished by several more newspapers. Later many people said, "We have heard about the story," when they met Lu Chaohui later in activities held to rescue his wife.

On Thanksgiving Day in 2003, Zhou Xuefei's three-year term of forced labor had expired, yet she was still detained at the Guangdong Province's Female Forced Labor Camp in Sanshui City because she refused to be brainwashed. In at Atlanta press conference day, Lu Chaohui reiterated the persecution of Zhou Xuefei and kind-hearted American people's support and help.

Lu Chaohui said that Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong has never followed the law. Once Zhou Xuefei was sent to the forced labor camp, she was monitored by prisoners around the clock. The prisoners were instigated and encouraged by the guards, and tortured and abused Zhou Xuefei and other Falun Gong practitioners who refused to renounce their belief. Over the past three years, the forced labor camp cut the contact of Zhou Xuefei and her husband. She was forced to work for long period of time to produce hand-made products for export use. At the top of that, she was tortured and abused, subjected to high mental pressure and suffered malnutrition, she was nearly blind. Even so, Zhou Xuefei was still detained after her illegal three-year detention terms expired, like other Falun Gong practitioners who refused to be brainwashed.

American people extended their great help to rescue Zhou Xuefei. Many congressmen wrote to the US Department of State and President to request for the rescue of Zhou Xuefei. Congressman Mr. Miller has been contacting American Embassy in Beijing; Congressman Linda has also been contacting the American Consulate in Guangzhou City to seek the release of Zhou Xuefei. Congressman Louis learned the extended detention of Zhou Xuefei, and wrote to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to call for an immediate release of Zhou Xuefei. More than 100 State Assemblymen in Georgia unanimously passed Resolution No. 624, calling for the release of Zhou Xuefei. Representatives from more than ten universities in Georgia on behalf of over 100,000 university students jointly passed a resolution to request for the release of Zhou Xuefei.

Zhou Xuefei's extended detention helped American people see more clearly the evil nature of the persecution, and also enables people to understand and support Falun Gong practitioners' lawsuits against the head criminal Jiang on charges of genocide, torture and crimes of anti-humanity.

After the press conference, Fox5 TV station interviewed Lu Chaohui about Zhou Xuefei's situation and made it the first report at 6:30 p.m. Evening News the same day.
