(Clearwisdom.net) On October 1, 2003, I was arrested by police while distributing Dafa CDs. In the police station, I refused to answer any questions. All I did was to take the opportunity to tell the police about the Fa. I told them how I got ill, how my leg was amputated because of the illness, and how I became entirely healthy thanks to Falun Gong. The atmosphere became more relaxed.

They tried to take my photo but couldn't because I would not cooperate. At that time people from the "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) entered the room. They gathered up local citizens and asked them to identify me, but none of them was able to because I am not a resident of where I handed out CDs. At around 9 pm, they identified me by using information on the Internet. While sitting there, I was very much at ease, sending forth righteous thoughts. They took me to the police station in my home district and began to search my house, but did not find anything. Later on I learned that other practitioners had removed all Dafa materials after learning that I had been arrested. Many practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts for me at the time. I fully appreciated everything they had done and were doing, and understood that all practitioners are one body.

At four o'clock in the morning, they took me back to the police station that had arrested me in the first place. Most of the police had gone to sleep, leaving only a young twenty-some-year-old policeman to watch me. I thought to myself, "Master, I cannot stay here for long. I want to go out." Looking around, I saw that there was a metal ladder in the backyard. To escape all one needs to do is to climb up the ladder upstairs and then jump off. I waited for a good opportunity to come. It did at a little past 6 am, when the policeman decided to leave. Asking Master for help, I opened the window and jumped into the backyard. I arrived at the ladder and upon climbing up the ladder. I reached the second floor in no time. At the top I saw another wall below shorter than the one I was standing on, which I had to jump to. With no time for me to think much, I asked: "Master, help me." My artificial limb landed steadily on the broken wall. In another jump I was on the ground just beyond the second wall (I did not feel the landing). I flagged down a taxi and left immediately after getting up.

At noon on the fifth day, the police saw me while I was calling a taxi on the street and they took me to the police station. They handcuffed me to a chair and began interrogating me. I simply told them how I escaped by jumping off the wall and nothing else. I was quite at ease sitting there, feeling neither regret nor resentment. After the interrogation they wanted me to sign certain documents for the record. I refused and they signed it themselves. At about 6 pm they asked me again how I got ill and I explained for them. There was a big change in their attitude toward me. They gave my money and other belongings back to me. A policeman said to me, "You are famous now you know. You have won." They had made a decision to release me at that time. Around 7 pm, people came and took me home. I spoke a few short words as I entered home. "Master, I am home." With tears in my eyes, I knew that I had come home under Master's protection.

I learned during this ordeal that it is important to have righteous thoughts at any time and anywhere. After my second arrest, I had no fear in my mind going to the police station. Also, I feel that overseas practitioners are a big help in our steady improvement. They provided us with resources for the most updated information.
