(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Liu Huasong, in his 30's, is a technician at the Heating and Electric Factory in Huangshi City, Hubei Province. In 2001, police arrested him while he was clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Dafa in the Wuchang area of Wuhan City. He was sent to the Second Squadron of the Hewan Forced Labor Camp in Wuhan, Hubei Province and was sentenced illegally to one year of forced labor in September that same year.

In November 2001, he began a hunger strike to protest being illegally imprisoned and demanded that he be released unconditionally. The police refused to release him. On the fourth day of his hunger strike, the police began to force feed him a mixture of 150 grams (5.3 ounce) of cooked rice porridge and force fed him using a rubber tube inserted through his nasal passage. He started to cough up saliva and blood after being force-fed. They force-fed him once a day and each time the mixture consisted of about 300 grams (10.6 ounce) of cooked rice and water.

During this period, he was still forced to get up at 6 am and climb up and down the stairways continuously without rest until about 10-11pm each day. Police in the labor camp didn't treat him as a human being and didn't care whether he would survive their abuse. After being force-fed for 50 days, his family was finally allowed to see him. He was in such bad shape physically that they could hardly recognize him. His mother and wife both wept uncontrollably; it was unbearable for them to face him directly.

Mr. Liu Huasong's hunger strike lasted 120 days. To defend his belief in Falun Dafa, he did what few men could bear. Due to his being subjected to long-term maltreatment and torture, his body was on the verge of collapse. Anyone seeing his condition would have been horrified. I am a witness to what happened to him, as I saw him go from being a strong young man to being reduced to a person that is so pale and emaciated with sunken eye-sockets. Yet, his strong belief in Falun Dafa is unwavering.

Later, even with help of others, he had difficulty walking. Police had no choice but to send him to a hospital for examination. The result showed he had a serious case of pneumonia. The Hewan Forced Labor camp was afraid of taking responsibility should he die and notified his family to take him to see a doctor after they extorted several thousand yuan for his release. His current condition is still not known.
