Facts of the Persecution

Another practitioner, Zhao Chenglan, who attended a Fa conference held on May 17 in Songjiang Town, Jiaohe City, Jilin Province was abducted and illegally sentenced to forced labor. Since 1999, hundreds of Dafa practitioners in Songjiang Town have been abducted and sent to brainwashing classes. They were unlawfully fined and illegally detained. Twenty-eight practitioners were illegally sent to forced labor, nine of those twice. Three practitioners were sentenced to prison.

In 2001, Dafa practitioner Li Jingzhang's whole family, all of whom are Dafa practitioners in the Chongwen District, Beijing, were forced to leave home to avoid illegal arrest. Later they went back to their hometown in Shiqian County, Guizhou Province. On one occasion Li Jingzhang talked to his military friend He Tingxue and told him that he was practicing Falun Gong, but He Tingxue reported him to the police. He Tingxue also led the police from Shiqian County Police Department to the home of Li Jingzhang's brother, and the police ransacked it but couldn't find anything related to Dafa. They extorted more than 10,000 Yuan from Li Jingzhang's brother. From then on, the police from Shiqian County Police Department often harassed him. On August 10, 2003, Li Jingzhang was abducted by police from Yuqing County Police Department in Guizhou City. In 2002, He Tingxue had a motorcycle accident and is now in a vegetative state. One police officer from Shiqian County Police Department who took part in ransacking the home of Li Jingzhang's brother received a severe electric shock and was sent to a hospital.

Recently a nine-day Fa study and exercise teaching class was held at National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan. The class was split into two sessions and one day was added for Fa study and experience sharing. The practitioners exchanged their experiences and felt the magnificence of Dafa. During the class, when a few practitioners were drowsy, others kindly reminded them not to be interfered with by demons; one person double-crossed his legs throughout Fa study. One day he couldn't come to class and he made up the lecture by reading by himself. He really wants to become part of Dafa. After two weeks, we looked at others and ourselves, and discovered we had learned a lot from the experience.

A Dafa practitioner in China: One day I was on a bus and I gave my seat to a woman with a big bag. She thanked me and sat down. A middle-aged man who stood next to me dropped his cell phone by accident. It was covered with dirt and filthy water when he picked it up. He didn't know what to do. I took out some tissue paper and gave it to him. He wiped the cell phone and thanked me. The woman to whom I had just given my seat said, "You are so kind! Maybe you have some kind of belief?" I said, "I practice Falun Gong." I also said to the man, "Our Master tells us to be good people and think of others before we think of ourselves. If you want to thank someone, thank our Master!" The man thought for a while and said, "I'll thank whatever is good for the people."

Other News from China

On October 1, 2003, many representatives of the media and representatives from different segments of society attended the opening ceremony of "Sihai Festival" in Daying County, Suining City, Sichuan Province. In the evening of September 25, Dafa practitioners successfully hung up eight loudspeakers in suburban Suining City to clarify the truth. On September 30 and October 1, more than 100 truth-clarification banners appeared in many counties, county-cities and villages. One 13-meter long, (about 40 feet) 3-meter wide (about 18 feet) banner that reads "Jiang Zemin persecutes Falun Gong and Faces Lawsuit in International Court" was also displayed. Afterwards, perpetrators from Sichuan Province and Suining City "610 Office" were infuriated and arrested many Dafa practitioners. According to a news source, nine practitioners have been abducted. Yang Bin, a Dafa practitioner from Chongqing City and a female Dafa practitioner were abducted in Suining City on October 18^th, 2003.
