[Huludao City, Liaoning Province] The City Authorities Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners Under the Excuse of "Residential Inspection"

According to the Huludao TV news, recently the authorities held a meeting in Huludao, arranging for random check-ups on homes in an attempt to detect Dafa materials production sites and the whereabouts of Falun Gong practitioners.

[Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Elderly Falun Dafa Practitioners Abducted by the Police

On the afternoon of October 11, four elderly Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Liu Minxia, Ms. Zhou Guilan, Ms. Li Binying and Ms. Zhou Guihua, all from the Babaixiang, Hongguang area in Daqing City, distributed truth-clarifying materials in Chengfeng Mall, Ranghu Road. They were arrested by police and sent to the Daqing Detention Center. They were tortured by the police because they refused to go along with the police's unreasonable demands. As a result, the Falun Gong practitioners as old as 60 years were tortured on the "Tiger Bench"¹.

[Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Suizhong Police Arrest Many Practitioners

Suizhong police have illegally arrested five practitioners including Mr. Li Shidong, Ms. Huang Shujian and Ms. Xu Chunxiang. All of the detained practitioners have initiated hunger strikes to protest their persecution.

[Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested

On the eve of National Day, staff from the Shifang 610 Office and the Lianglukou Town police branch suddenly raided the homes of Falun Gong practitioners living at Liangshuijing Village, Lianglukou Town. At that time, several practitioners had gathered to study the Fa together. One policeman punched a practitioner to the ground and confiscated Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials. At this time, Mr. Ma Guoyin and a female practitioner have been arrested. Their whereabouts are unknown.

[Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

On September 26, 2003, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhao Huiju and Ms. Ruan Suzhen from the Pingdingshan area went to the Quanfo Temple in Lushan County to clarify the truth and were arrested by police. Police extorted 1,000 Yuan from them with the promise to release them. However, just one day after their release police arrested them again. Since there was no room to keep them in Lushan, police sent them to the Baoniu Detention Center.

Two Falun Gong practitioners from Liaoyang City Mr. Zhao Delin and Ms. Zhang Yuxia were arrested again by police on October 12. They had been arrested before on May 13, when they were distributing truth-clarifying materials. Fifteen days later they were able to leave the detention center with the help of righteous thoughts.

[Northeast China] Practitioners Hold a Small Fa Conference

On October 3, Dafa practitioners in Northeastern China held a small Fa conference. During the conference, practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts at the top of every hour and communicated about how to best catch up with the pace of Fa-rectification, and how to do what Dafa practitioners should do well. In the evening, they went to downtown to hang up two medium-sized banners and dozens of smaller banners. At the same time practitioners posted a lot of truth-clarifying materials. Their actions greatly shocked the evil.

1 "Tiger Bench": In this torture method, practitioners are forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall with their knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes placed on their knees, they are forced to sit straight up and look straight ahead. They are not allowed to turn their heads, close their eyes, talk to anyone or move at all. Several inmates are assigned to watch over the practitioners and force themáto remain motionless while sitting on the bench.
