(Clearwisdom.net) Prisoners said, "If you are beaten to death, the government (police) has said that it just needs to provide a death certificate."
I (Wang Yudong) was confined in a solitary compartment for 69 days in 2002, from July 28, to October 4. I suffered a torture called "Locking to the ring on the ground." From August 1-12, and from September 23 to October 4, I was shackled with handcuffs and 38 pounds of shackles, to a metal ring that had been mounted on the ground . During the second period, I protested the brutal treatment for more than 10 days with a hunger strike and was brutally force fed.
At that time there was a total of three practitioners in the No. 9 division who were illegally sentenced to jail. On July 28, the head of the division had a conversation with us. We were not allowed to talk among ourselves or to other prisoners on any subject, since the prison set strict rules to specially monitor us. We didn't agree with their requirement, so the three of us were put into solitary compartments. To protest such illegal treatment, I started a hunger strike. Several days later, the police put me in the torture of "Locking to the ring on the ground." Because the labor camp bureau of the province was coming to visit the prison, the police stopped the torture after 12 days.
Later, the police assigned four known villains, the most vicious prisoners in the No. 9 division, to monitor us day and night. We were not allowed to sleep or move. Cheng Yu had scabies all over his body and was in the pain. Practitioner Chen Chunlin from No. 6 division suffered a brutal beating at the hands of prisoners, who received their instructions from the police. The beating lasted for two days and nights. All practitioners detained in the assembly division had the shackles put on them and suffered the brutal beatings.
On September 23, the No. 9 division again put me in the torture of "Locking to the ring on the ground." The four villains from the No. 9 division were assigned to watch me day and night. During the 13 days, there were two three-day stretches that I had not been allowed to sleep. During more than 60 days in detention, my weight decreased from 167 Jin to 132 Jin (Translator note: one pound equals 0.9 Jin). From September 23 to 27, I didn't eat or drink anything. The prison is in northern China and the weather had already become cold by that time of year. The solitary compartment was not only cold but damp, as well. I had only thin clothes to wear. Since I refused to write "the guarantee statement," the police didn't allow me to sleep. They interrogated me every night. I was not allowed to speak or even close my eyes.
Later, I started to eat. The two police came again September 29. I was told that the prison would not release me unless I agreed to write the "three statements". [Note: "Three Statements" are documents coerced under extreme pressure, torture and brainwashing, designed by the Chinese authority to ensure that detained Falun Gong practitioners are appropriately brainwashed. The statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list containing names and addresses of all family, friends and acquaintances of the detainee who practice Falun Gong. This system was concocted by the "610" office, an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] I refused the requirement. In order to achieve what they wanted, the despicable authorities instructed the prisoners to brutally torture me. While I was in handcuffs, they tried to pull apart my wrists. They beat on my forehead with their palms and called it "confusing me" which left me unable to remember the things that had happened before. During the daytime, two prisoners openly tortured me viciously while the police in charge of the solitary compartment turned a deaf ear to what was happening. They pulled off my pants. One of them forcefully kneaded my testes with his finger. The other one forcefully kneaded the bottoms of my two ears until the cartilage was exposed. Then they did the same to my shoulder blade. They hit my back and chest heavily with fists and said they would not leave any marks on my body to indicate I was injured. I asked them who allowed them to torture me and told them what they were doing was a crime. They said the government (police) instructed them to do so. They told me, "If you die, the government said all we have to do is provide a death certificate."
If I meet an unexpected death in the future, it would be on account of the brutal torture; the police will be fully responsible for my death.
Note: Since Wang Yudong is currently watched day and night, not all of the inhuman tortures employed are described here.
