The brainwashing center in the capital city of Hebei Province brutally persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners both physically and mentally. Practitioners are deprived of sleep and not allowed to use the restroom; they are force-fed with wine, abused and beaten. At the same time, the center creates propaganda to hoodwink the public, giving people the false impression that it is treating Falun Dafa practitioners very kindly. These actions are directed and supported by Luo Gan, head of the "610 Offices" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems), who came to the center in person to intensify the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.

Eleven more Falun Dafa practitioners have been sentenced to forced labor camps. They are: Zhao Juan, Shan Jingying, Lu Guihong , Jiang Guihong, Li Ping, Quan Shuzhi, Yang Dali, Liu Shujun (all women), Cui Xuewei, Yan Xihua, and Wang He. Ling Qingfan, the director of Shuangyashan Public Security Bureau, is in charge of persecuting Falun Gong and is responsible for these sentences.

[Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Keep Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts to Cancel the Illegal Trial
Dalian City announced its intention to hold an illegal trial in Ganjinzi District on January 9 to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners Yang Chuanjun, Tian Jun, and others. After hearing the news, all of the local practitioners began to send forth righteous thoughts together to eliminate the evil. Two days later, the trial was postponed until January 14. [Yidu City, Hubei Province] Sixtry-Year-Old Falun Gong Practitioner Zhen Qimei Illegally Detained Indefinitely
Zhen Qimei, a female practitioner around 60 years old from Yidu City, was sent to Shayang Forced Labor Camp in November 2000. Because of her health she didn't pass the medical examination. With no legal procedure, she was then transferred to the Yidu Detention House, where she has remained for over two year. According to inside sources, the police have often beaten her brutally during her detention.
[Hubei Province] Internet Cafes Forced to Install Network-Monitoring Software
According to an official newspaper, since April 5 all Internet Cafes (Bars) in Hubei Province are to install network-monitoring software, which automatically records and sends reports to the authorities regarding any behavior against regulations. This is another attempt to control network access, depriving citizens of their right to information and their ability to inquire about the truth.
