(name and address omitted to avoid Chinese consulate's harassment)

Dear (name omitted):

Thank you for contacting me with your thoughts. It is always good to hear the issues that are important to you.

I was proud to vote for H.Con.Res. 188, expressing the sense of Congress that the Government of the People's Republic of China should cease its persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

I am concerned with the apparent rampant human rights violations occurring in China. The way a government treats its own people is a direct indication of that country's accountability and principle. As a world leader, we must not tolerate or condone countries that do not treat their citizens as human beings.

Again, thank you for sharing your concerns. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future.

Sincerely,

Joe Barton
Member of Congress
