(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of August 14, 2002, Falun Gong practitioners in Montreal, Canada gathered in downtown Chinatown to hold a candlelight vigil to call on the Hong Kong authorities to drop their "political trial" against Falun Gong practitioners, and to demand that Hong Kong police make an open apology to Falun Gong practitioners.

A French practitioner who has been to Tiananmen Square to appeal makes a speech

At Zhongshan Park, the practitioners explained to park visitors in Chinese, English and French about Hong Kong police's unlawful and violent treatment and its false charges against Falun Gong practitioners who peacefully appealed in order to stop the Jiang regime's killing of innocent people. The practitioners especially pointed out that the same peaceful appeal met with different treatment: In Canada, over 100 Falun Gong practitioners' hunger strike appeal gained support from both the Canadian government and congressmen. However, in Hong Kong, under high pressure from Jiang's political scoundrel regime, the Hong Kong police abused the practitioners and "politically prosecuted " them.

Montreal practitioners also held a candlelight vigil to commemorate Dafa practitioners who were tortured to death in China, and to protest the Jiang regime's evil persecution. They also sent forth righteous thoughts and demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. Many Westerners and Chinese people stopped to watch our exercise demonstration, listen to practitioners' speeches and accept our Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Three tourists from China even shouted out loud "Falun Dafa is good" after they learned the truth about Falun Gong.

We appealed to the Hong Kong authorities to drop this "political prosecution." We also demanded that Hong Kong police immediately apologize to Falun Gong practitioners.
