[Hebei Province] Exposing the Brutal Persecution in Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp

Hundreds of Dafa practitioners are detained at the No. 5 Group of Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. Most of them are determined practitioners from different areas of the province. The forced labor camp was "praised" many times by Jiang's regime for using brutal means to torture practitioners.

In order to tempt the practitioners, the perpetrators sometimes forced the practitioners to watch dozens of adult movies continuously. To prevent the practitioners from sharing their experiences, they separated their beds and did not allow them to talk to each other. The perpetrators also enticed the inmates with term reduction, making them watch the practitioners day and night and report to the guards. Even practitioners who had been forced to write "guarantee letters" were watched in this way. The guards dispersed those resolute practitioners into several labor sites, where they were forced to do heavy physical labor for long hours. The perpetrators then transferred them back according to a schedule for forceful brainwashing. In order to hide the facts of persecution, so that they can torture the practitioners at will, the perpetrators took the practitioners who refused to write the "guarantee letters" to places far from the cells and tortured them individually. They handcuff each practitioner's hands to two iron rings on the ground that are 4 feet apart. The practitioners had to squat down with their arms stretched between the two iron rings. The perpetrators watch the practitioners 24 hours a day, not allowing them to sit down. They also use two electric batons to shock the practitioners on their necks for prolonged periods of time. In addition to the beatings, the practitioners were also exposed to the cold in the wintertime, the mosquitoes in summer time, the baking sun, and reduced food and drinking water. The inmates often hear cries of misery when practitioners are tortured.

The persecutors did not even stop when some practitioners lost consciousness. They shocked them and pricked them in their nostrils and ear holes. The sexual abuse of female practitioners were even worse: they bundled three toothbrushes together in a way that the hard brushes face out, and used this "tool" to torture the female practitioner in their private areas. The practitioners are not allowed to communicate with their family members through letters or phone calls, and everything mailed to the labor camp from the family members is closely examined.

There are not many Dafa practitioners in the Gaoyang area. The local "610" Office [Note: The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] forced some practitioners who persist in their cultivation into brainwashing classes inside the forced labor camp. As a result, the environment in Gaoyang is not very good. We hope that all practitioners who have seen this message will send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil at Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp.

A few days ago, there was an explosion at Tianfu Square in Chengdu City. We have heard that the Chengdu police are planning on shifting the blame to Falun Gong and using that as an excuse to launch a large-scale arrest of practitioners in the near future.

[Beichen District, Tianjin City] Shuangkou Forced Labor Camp Persecute Practitioners and Their Family Members

Below is a note sent by a practitioner from inside Shuangkou Forced Labor Camp:

"In the past three months, all the visitors of the practitioners were forced to fill out forms that slander Teacher and Dafa. Those who refused to fill out the forms were denied their visit. The perpetrators used worse means to torture those firm practitioners who do not cooperate with them and have extended their terms. The practitioners are not allowed to talk to each other. The things that the visitors brought to the practitioners were closely checked twice before the practitioners could get them. The perpetrators often searched the practitioners' bodies and their cells. The letters from the practitioners' family members are opened and even withheld."

It was said that all the practitioners detained in the labor camp were tortured to death. We do not even know the whereabouts of the practitioner who wrote the note. The perpetrators of the labor camp tightly blocked the information.

[Wanjia, Heilongjiang Province] "Strict Management Class" To Be Formed in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp

According to inside news, the director of Wanjia Forced Labor Camp brought back from Beijing an order from his superiors: escalate the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners detained in the labor camp. A "Strict Management Class" will be formed that contains 3 teams. Ten to twenty practitioners will be held in each team. Everyone in the "Strict Management Class" will have to sleep on the floor in cells with no sunshine. Instead of eating at the dinning hall, the practitioners in the "Strict Management Class" will have to eat in their cells. Practicing and studying the Fa will not be allowed. The perpetrators are planning to put all practitioners into the "Strict Management Class," regardless of their physical conditions (some practitioners suffer from serious scabies). Recently, the perpetrators did many "security checks" in order to find and confiscate Teacher's articles. To prevent another tragedy from happening in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp, we call for the kind-hearted people to pay attention to this matter and help stop the persecution.

[Beijing] Practitioners in Beijing Send Forth Righteous Thoughts to Support Practitioners in Changchun

After hearing the news that over 5000 practitioners in Changchun were arrested, nearly 100 were tortured to death, and many others were forced to become homeless, practitioners in a district of Beijing sent forth righteous thoughts recently. From 8 p.m. on April 4 and 5, all practitioners in the district sent forth righteous thoughts every hour until early next morning, firmly eliminating the evil that persecutes Dafa in the Changchun area.

All Dafa practitioners are one body. The great deeds of practitioners in Changchun are also things that other practitioners wanted to do; the persecution is against all practitioners. Let us completely eliminate the arrangements of the old evil forces and all the evil beings that persecute Dafa with our purest righteous thoughts.

In August 2001, a female practitioner from Badaozhen Town planned to go out and distribute fliers with a few practitioners from out of town. Someone reported them to the local police, and the police arrested the practitioners. When they were arrested, the police beat them in broad daylight and broke the leg of a male practitioner.

[Beijing] Practitioner Walks Out of Brainwashing Class Using Righteous Thoughts

In March 2002, practitioner Dayong (alias) was deceived and forced into a brainwashing class by the police of the "610" Office in a district of Beijing. However, the perpetrators could not shake Dayong's determined heart. They threatened that if Dayong does not give up his cultivation, they would send him to a brainwashing class in Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp. If he still does not give up cultivation, they would sentence him to 2 years in a forced labor camp. Dayong resisted the arrangements of the old forces and firmly sent forth righteous thoughts. On March 22, he walked out of the brainwashing class with dignity.

Dayong had been detained for a year in Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp, where he was persecuted. This time, his story encouraged the practitioners in Beijing. March 21 is "Falun Dafa Day" of the district, many practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts on that day to help him walk out of the brainwashing class. On the very next day, Dayong came home successfully.

[Beijing] Chaoyang District Library Controls Its Internet Room

In the beginning of this year, a high school student visited Dafa websites in the Internet reading room of Chaoyang District Library. In two minutes, the police arrested the student. The Internet reading room was then closed, and the library received a notice from their superiors, probably telling them to control their Internet terminals more tightly. The library then assigned people to monitor every computer that has Internet access and clarified each person's responsibilities. They also enforced restriction methods like changing the administrator's password and restricting the user's access to certain functions and programs.

Yang Chunfang is a female Dafa practitioner in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. She firmly cultivated Dafa and refused to cooperate with the brainwashing at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Guards Su, Shao Jiao, and Lu brutally tortured Yang. As a result, the young and hard-working Yang became unable to walk or even put her own clothes on. After appealing in Beijing, practitioner Wu Haibo was arrested and detained. Around April 2001, the police and some security guards went to his work unit to arrest him. Because Wu has always been a good worker and a nice person, his co-workers with a sense of justice helped him: they grabbed the police and security guards, and Wu was able to get away. He then became homeless. Wu was arrested the end of last year after he returned to Zhanjiang City. He went on a hunger strike to protest his illegal treatment. Currently Wu is being detained at Sanshui Forced Labor Camp.

It is believed that a key official named Li from the central government is currently at Guanghan City, Deyang Area. The Deyang "610" Office has dispatched many people to Guanghan City, searching for Dafa material. The police go to every practitioner's home, and they encourage people at local community offices to watch and report on all the residents that have recently moved in. The perpetrators also trained 50 police officers to look for clues at Internet cafes. A truth-clarifying material site was recently destroyed.

[Baishan, Jilin Province] More Facts About the Practitioners Abducted Recently in the Baishan Area

Since late March, nearly 20 practitioners in Baishan Area have been abducted, and some material sites in the city have been destroyed. The abducted practitioners include:

Chen Hua (college graduate, 30 years old. Chen used to work at Hunjiang Aluminum Company as a technician.), Wang Hongwei (31, self-employed), Zhang Jiaqi (female, about 35). Because the Linjiang City Police Department is in charge of the issue, the three practitioners above are probably detained at the Gangou Detention Center near Linjiang City. About 50 practitioners who were abducted during the time of two government annual meetings recently are also being detained there.

The police consider the issue an "important case," and they have formed a special team to further their investigation in the Baishan Area. Many police cars from other regions and areas of Jilin Province can be seen in Baishan, where the perpetrators are currently very active.

Many practitioners are illegally detained at Shizishan Detoxification Forced Labor Camp, where they are forced to do physical labor for over 10 hours a day. If the practitioners refuse to cooperate with the brainwashing, the perpetrators then physically punish them by forcing them to remain standing until 1:00 a.m.

A Dafa practitioner works at a bank. The police went to arrest him many times in vain. Finally, they forcefully extorted 5000 Yuan [Chinese dollar.
