(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday, after I ran some errands at a Chinese restaurant and supermarket, I decided to stand outside the Chinese supermarket to hand out the new brochures we brought back from the United States recently. I recited the formula for sending forth righteous thoughts silently as I was standing there.

Soon, a man in his thirties came out of the supermarket and came up to me.

"Do you know where I can buy tickets to Beijing?" he asked.

I told him that he could enquire at the supermarket or go on the Internet to find the cheapest tickets. He said that his family is planning to come and visit him. I gave him a brochure before he walked away. He walked a few steps and turned back to ask me where he can get ingredients for making Chinese dumplings. I told him that he could go back to the Chinese supermarket if he needs anything special and to any supermarket to get the meat. We then had a little chat about making dumplings, not that I'm an expert at making dumplings. I joked that he should treat me to some dumplings. We laughed and bid each other goodbye. All the time I thought that it was no coincidence that this person should come to me and ask these questions.

As I watched him walking away, I felt I ought to seize this opportunity to tell him what he had come to me for. I ran up to him and told him that there are some very good books in the city library, which he will find interesting to read. Some of them have been banned in China. (I had donated two copies of the Chinese version of Zhuan Falun and one of Falun Gong to our library a few days ago). During our conversation, I told him that I was a Falun Gong practitioner. He was surprised and told me what could happen to me if we were in China. He asked about the self-immolation incident and about the 1400 deaths that the Jiang regime falsely attributed to Falun Gong. I told him that the self-immolation was a staged act and the others were all lies, and that he must find out more about it. Then he can use his own independent judgement and not just blindly believe in what he has been told by the state-run media in China. He nodded in agreement. I also told him about how my husband and I benefited from practicing Falun Gong. He was most surprised to learn that I am older than I look. I told him that this is commonplace with practitioners. We chatted as if we have known each other for some time, and when I gave him the truth clarification material, he accepted them immediately. We bid each other goodbye, both smiling broadly.

I felt quite good afterwards, knowing that one more person is now on his way to a good future.
