On March 6th of this year, thirteen Dafa practitioners were illegally
sentenced by the Nanguan Law Court of Changchun Province to prison terms of 10
to 15 years. The ten male practitioners were incarcerated in Jilin Prison,
Jilin City. The three female practitioners were sent to Heizuizi Prison,
Changchun City. Within the first two months of entering the prisons, according
to inside information, the police had forbidden family members' visits and
were secretly subjecting the practitioners to high pressure brainwashing. From
4 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day the cruel degree of persecution suffered by these
Dafa practitioners is as severe as in the Heizuizi Labor Camp. Several
monitors watch each practitioner 24 hours a day.
The Kaiping Substation of the Tangshan Police Station extorts money from Dafa practitioners. No matter if practitioners are illegally detained in jail or in a forced labor camp, after they come out, they have to go to the brainwashing class set up by the police. If Dafa practitioners want to leave, their family has to give money to the police. Otherwise practitioners will stay there indefinitely. According to the police, higher authorities have told them, "Whatever you do to Falun Gong is not excessive."
Police arrest whoever has connections with Falun Gong and then torture the
person cruelly with the intention of extorting money. In one instance, a
female practitioner from the Tangshan Iron Company resisted the illegal
ransacking of her home and was consequently arrested and sent to the Kaiping
Police Station. Police first beat her up, then threw her into the detention
center, and finally sent her to a brainwashing class. They told her that if
she handed over ten thousand Yuan (500 Yuan is the average monthly income
for an urban worker in China), she could go home. Although this
practitioner firmly refused, the police went to her home and told her family
that she had agreed to pay the money. In this way unprincipled officers
extorted ten thousand Yuan from her family and didn't even leave a receipt. If
they cannot catch Dafa practitioners, they will catch their family members.
They will do anything to get money.
Police Officer Xing Jingsong from the Fourteenth Section of the Beijing Police Station has sent several practitioners to detention. Recently he went to Qinghua University, where he called Dafa practitioner Qiu Shuqing's son to the Qinghua Police Substation and ordered him to find his mother or else he would be sent to a detention center. When Qiu's son instantly replied that he would go with Xing to the detention center, Xing saw the threat had no effect. Instead he told Qinghua University to withhold her entire pension.
Qiu Shuqing was laid off in 2000, and in 2001 she applied to the university to retire. Qiu Shuqing's son does not have a job. He has applied to the university for employment several times, but has been refused until he can "find your mother first." Mother and son both depend on this pension to live.
In May 2000 she was released by Beijing Police Station Section 14 under the
following conditions: "One year of bail and periodical
interrogation." Now that two years have passed Xing Jingsong is using
this excuse to persecute Qiu Shuqing.
According to the insiders, one day before the Mid-autumn Festival in late September two policemen from the Material Company of Harbin City's Small Agriculture District broke into Zhou Guanghui's house and took her away. At 7 p.m. several police escorted her back home and then ransacked the house. Now Zhou is detained in Harbin Police Station Section 7.
On the same day and in the same district, according to an eyewitness, two
police vehicles waited outside the home of another practitioner for over an
hour, but because they could not open the security gate, they left.
Late one evening in May, the head of the Wufenchang Police Subtation in
Youyi County led several policemen, including Wang Dehui, to the home of
female practitioner Wang. After breaking in they started to ransack the place,
but Wang had left earlier, having knowledge of their intentions. Youyi Police
Station then issued orders to find her and assigned several officers to the
substation. The police went to the home of Wang's mother-in-law twice and said
they would wait in her home for her to come. Her mother-in-law refused. Then
the police went to her mother's home, her sister's home, and even to her
sister's mother-in-law's home. Her sister's mother-in-law was so frightened
that she suffered a heart attack. Police searched all of her relative's homes
and failed to find her. Several police vehicles were parked in front of her
home. Police then searched her neighbors' homes one by one. After failing to
find her, the police eventually left.

Zheng Jun is the director of the Political Safeguard Section in Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province. Since 1999 Dafa practitioners have been continuously persecuted and sent to the No 2 Detention Center. At one time Zheng Jun had shown his conscience towards Falun Gong with the influence of Dafa practitioners' great compassion and benevolence. However, after he was promoted to the directorship of the Political Security Section, he abandoned his conscience and sense of justice and has sent more than twenty practitioners to Wanjia Labor Camp. Wanjia Labor Camp at first refused to accept the practitioners because they did not meet the physical examination standards. Zheng Jun then went to the labor camp to encourage the camp to accept them. Now these practitioners are suffering the persecution, and their families are suffering the tragedy of broken families.
